I rediscovered this band in my itunes that I forgot about since 2008:



Flowers of Hell just hit me on every level I can imagine. Reminiscent of Spiritualized BUT only Pierce's long instrumental spacier pieces, and without vocals and all of his pop crap. It's great to rediscover newer bands you forget about also because now I see they have 2 more albums out since this first one!

New CoC!? I am seriously slipping in my old age. This is the first I've heard of them having a new album.

Haha, I had no idea there was a new CoC until that post either. Will have to check it out.

And now for something completely different... I'm revisiting idm and shit from 1995 and thereabouts. I'd say that and industrial were the first genres that I first really got into. I was such a nerdy kid (not much has changed).

In 1996, the Future Sound of London album "Dead Cities" made my mind explode. On the industrial side, I was a fan of KMFDM, Minstry, Godflesh, Lard, and Pailhead.

KMFDM (and to a lesser extent, Skinny Puppy) was my gateway drug for industrial. I have always loved Sascha and co., even the brief MDFMK and side-projects like Raymond Watts' Pig and En Esch. God, that takes me back to my days of ultra-nerding and posting on newsgroups and crap. Their live show isn't all that good, but whatever.

Dead Cities is incredible. I got into FSOL (and tons of other electronic music) from MTV's Amp showing the We Have Explosive video. Remember that? While on the topic of Amp and shows -- The Amp CD introduced me to Atari Teenage Riot and I got to see them last year in Orlando (Otto von Schirach opened and he sucked ass). Scratch that off the bucket list.

For the last few days I've been revisiting Th' Legendary Shack Shakers discography.

Shack Shakers are fantastic! I got to see them live a few years back and it was great.

I've never had the pleasure.
I'm not a rockabilly fan, but once they went 'Southern Weirdo' I was hooked.

just got a new record player that isnt terrible so ive been spinning a lot more vinyl recently.

I've been listening to this track by Rainbow Arabia almost religiously since I heard it in an episode of Eastbound And Down. That show has some awesome music btw.
