Okay I need some doggie help.

Does anyone know a way to get rid of the brown staining below your dogs eye.

I've tried :
Filtered water
Different food brands
Angel eyes
That chemical crystal eyes

And after that it just keeps coming.

Any advise ??

There is no way, as far as I know. My pup has had the same problem since she was born. We've tried everything, and have asked the advice of both vets and trainers. If their eyes are going to weep (often allergy related, I'm told) then they're going to weep. It can be controlled by wiping it away, and that seems to be about it.

Stop using the dog as a filter for your paint booth..

Being that we're both Boston parents I know this issue all to well. And our pup is a white-faced Boston, so it really shows up. With her it definitely seems to be a seasonal/allergy thing and after a couple months it clears up on its own.

My dog hanging out on the couch. I took him to the vet the other day, he's 93 pounds. On the large end for a Ridgeback.

One of our neighbors used to have a Bichon, and poor thing was always weeping. The vet prescribed some allergy medication, as I recall, and that seemed to help.

"Tear staining is caused by excessive tearing. What cases the excessive tearing is what needs to be found out or the problem may always persist. (Note that antibiotics such as Teramyacin will only work temporarily, if at all, if an infection is not the true cause of your dog's excessive tearing.) When the area around the eyes stays moist due to excessive tearing, red yeast bacteria start to develop into the staining you see. The causes of excessive tearing can be many and varied, including but not limited to genetics, health, diet, fleas, bacterial infection, ear infections, cutting teeth (in puppies), irritation, high mineral content in the dog's drinking water, blocked tear ducts, etc. It is important that your dog's vet determine the cause(s) of the excessive tearing before directing you in any methods of trying to cure the problem. Until then, keeping the eye area wiped clean daily will help and you might even consider having your dog's groomer carefully shave the area so as to prevent excessive red yeast bacteria build-up. "

This is Brock, or rather "Was" Brock, around 10 years ago.

What a Ham! He knows he is in front on the camera, for sure.

Max hates getting his picture taken, I have to sneak the camera around.
