I LOVE Chicken and waffles! Oh how it pains me that there are no such places in Alaska. I guess one weird thing I enjoy eating is cheddar cheese dipped in A1 steak sauce, it tastes better than it sounds.

I've never done chicken and waffles, but I can totally understand that combo being appealing. I love honey on stuff like chicken nuggets. Or how about maple syrup on breakfast sausage? Also effing delicious.

Similar to Daimyo -- I used to eat Colby cheese dipped in ketchup. I haven't done that since I was little, though. Another good dip is fruit on the bottom yogurt. I'll take a side of dairy with my dairy, please.

Chicken & Waffles is one of the most amazing combinations out there, when done right of course.

Probably the weirdest thing I've ever eaten were goat testicles. My mom used to make kebab's out of them for family parties we had. I've only tried them once (not knowing what it was at the time, i was much younger), and they weren't bad. I just won't eat them now since I know what they are.

I totally forgot Brazilian hot dogs, although I'm sure in Brazil they are just hot dogs and not thought of as weird. Half the bun gets marinara and the other half mayonnaise, then corn, peas, Parmesan and topped with fried shoe string potatoes. It tastes completely different than the individual ingredients and what you might imagine. When I first heard the ingredients I was going to pass but I am glad I didn't. It's now my favorite hot dog.

Seriously, shit needs to get weirder in this thread. Most of the things that have popped up are pretty normal.

Once while in central Mexico I tried piglet intestines fried in blood. The locals I was with said "you probably have to be raised with this to appreciate it." It was true. I tried, I really tried, wanting to "do as the Romans when in Rome" and all that, but I couldn't stand it.

I still want to try blood sausage, though.

irish breakfast is a great way to try blood sausage... or as it's called in the dish, black pudding. (it's not pudding as in jello pudding,
or yorkshire pudding, but an actual sausage.) there's also white pudding (which is basically black pudding without the blood), rashers,
bangers, fried eggs and toast... and sometimes beans, but not always. so even if you decide the blood sausage isn't for you, there's
still plenty of breakfast left to eat.

damn, now i want irish breakfast!

That sounds incredibly delicious Chris. I just don't see black pudding in the stores here in SF but maybe I need to broaden my horizons. Sometimes I make "toad in the hole" (unappetizing name for a delicious dish, which is basically browned bangers in Yorkshire pudding with onion gravy) but even finding traditional bangers is difficult, so I just use local pork sausages instead.

Did you expect a bunch of toy collectors to be eating toe nail clippings or dryer sheets? I have had bear fat ice cream, whale blubber and seal. Perhaps that qualifies as weird... not sure.

I bought Japanese mango marshmallows recently, but that's probably not weird with this crowd.

They smelled like cheap perfume and tasted like chemicals.

I haven't tried it, but a ice cream parlor near me has bone marrow ice cream. I'm more likely to try their pear & bleu cheese.

Better than you would think. It's bear fat, blueberries and sugar mixed up and frozen. Sometimes these days they substitute crisco for the fat but I have no desire to try that. It's often called Eskimo ice cream but that is a bit insensative as most native Alaskans are not from the Eskimo tribe. It's sweet, satisfying and the fat makes a better milk substitute than you would imagine. They make soups out of fat as well but again, I haven't tried them.

My favorite cookie is what my family calls "ammonia cookies" or "lemon crackers" they are made with a baking ammonia, lemon hard candy flavoring, and cinnamon imperials on top. None of my friends have ever heard of them and I have no clue their heritage, but they are awesome.

:( That Sounds Horrible.

The chemical stuff scares me more than anything natural ever could. Ha, although I'm sure this could be challenged.

I put peanut butter on hotdogs. If you smear it on right after you take it out of the water/skillet (depending on how you cook it, i guess. I alternate) it melts and tastes great with mustard.

Oh. And mustard... I put it on my popcorn at the movies.
One little dab at a time. Dropped a hotdog into my popcorn bucket once, got mustard on them and ended up liking it. But you can't just squirt it in there... gotta squeeze a little bit at a time.

The first time I had Irish breakfast was in Hong Kong a long, long time ago. It was yummy.

here in mexico we have Menudo is cow stomach and corn (but not your yellow sweet corn) soup taste great for breakfast after a party night
some places in mexico mostly south have grasshoppers they are great as a snack with lime and chile and a beer
you can have Tacos de Cabeza (cow head tacos) in almost every taco stand, is a steamed cow head you can ask just for meat or you can go further and have a brains, tongue, cheek, lips, palate tacos, and also tripe tacos

some places not many have Machito tacos (bull penis) or Criadillas tacos (bull balls)

in my next visit to Mexico City i want to go to this place supposedly they cook prehispanic food
