mmmm basil wolverton.... Funny you should mention Wolverton - he did a lot of the art for them. Called "Ugly Cards" produced by Topps. Several different series released starting in the mid-60's. There were usually two different names for each card image/picture making getting a set a real chore. And they did make small rubber monsters based on these cards pictures. I remember bins of them at the local "Rogers" 5 & dime. Man I miss those old type stores..........

 Re: Vintage Paper
Here are some Topps test market Wolverton posters from 1968 that never made it into regular release for being too disgusting. There is only 2 to 4 known examples surviving of each poster.

 Re: Vintage Paper
Finally got around to framing this Maemura poster. I think it came out great. Also, I am super excited about this early '70s live show poster. The thing is huge. The image alone measures 1meter across and 70cm tall plus add about another 25 cm for the mat and frame. My wife and I both love it and it is soon to have a prominent place on our wall. I like the treatment of the figures in comparison to the Maemura poster. He is a master artist, but there is something immediate and fun about the other one and I like the placement with the carousel.

 Re: Vintage Paper
Very nice! They look as if you just found them yesterday--so colorful and the paper looks to be in great condition. I'm surprised there isn't any yellowing, and that makes me wonder if the Japanese paper used in vintage days are different from the Western counterpart?
I'm sure these framed posters will be enhanced by your vintage figures being displayed in front of them!

 Re: Vintage Paper
Here are some I have for those bootleg toys. The backing cards are quite large, both are about 13 x 7, which is a odd size: P1010943 by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Bootleg Thundermask backing card by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Bootleg Ninja Arashi backing card by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr Bootleg Thundermask header by Beautification Syndrome, on Flickr I'm thinking of a drastic redo of my collection. Was going to lose the bed in my room (we have two), move the toys in there, find a vintage display case for vintage toys and maybe hang some of these cards up framed before they deteriorate anymore. Such an odd size though (13 x 7) any suggestions?

 Re: Vintage Paper
Hello everyone my name is Gary Schaeffer. I am the co-owner of the Outer Space Men formerly known as the Colorforms Outer Space men along with the creator Mel Birnkrant. I am hoping that some of you reading this have met me along the way or have stopped into my booth at the New York Comic Con. I have just joined the forum today as I recently discovered it while doing a search for some Bullmark OSM. For those of you who know me I hope that you check the official OSM website; www.theouterspacemen.com from time to time to take a look at what is new. I am most impressed with this collection of images that I see. This catalog with the Bullmark OSM is just amazing. I am inviting anyone with OSM related images to forward them to me as I would like to post them on my OSM site. For those of you looking to sell any OSM related items please contact me as I would love to increase my collection with such amazing items as I see below. Thank you all so much for keeping the OSM alive even if it is through Bullmark and Japanese vinyl's. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Gary.

 Re: Vintage Paper
Welcome Gary! Now that you are here, it is long overdue that we have an OSM dedicated thread. They've been brought up here a few times, but not many of us are fortunate to own any of the orginals, but there are definitely more than a few fans. Thanks to you and your crew for the re-issues!

 Re: Vintage Paper
These are Inazuman theater posters in a private collection in Hawaii (not mine); I was given permission to post these here. From what I know, these were originally held by a family involved with movie theater operations in Hawaii in the 1950s through 70s. They saved copies of the theater posters that were posted in the various theaters to announce coming attractions. The current owner sent me these images, knowing that I was interested in the live-action stuff.

Oh wow, I love those! Thanks for sharing them with us, and pass on our gratitude to the owners. I love the handwriting, and the captions pulling you in. Damn sure makes me want to catch the Inazuman show!
