Re: Kappa and Ikakumora... New Figure "Shishi" (page 3)
Big thanks again to everyone who snagged something from my GH show. All the Shishi's and Ikakumora sold out! Totally blown away and extremely delighted. So some bigger things could be in the works but its way too early to say anything. So instead heres a pic of a new cutesy smaller figure I threw together a couple days ago. Just need to finish detailing. He's a starfishy monster from an ocean planet. Im still a little iffy on it, let me know what you think.

Congrats on your GH show Miles there were some really beautiful glazed pieces in that show. You must have worked your tail off to get that many figures done. I'm really digging the Starfish dude especially the etched in textured lines.

Yeah, I really like that a lot, not just the textures either, the shape of the back is cool and the spherical piece on the head is pretty cool. It reminds me a tiny bit of Pestar which is a character I loathe but yours has a lot more character than Pestar. If he was done in disco colors he'd be very impressive.

Re: Kappa and Ikakumora... New Figure "Shishi" (page 3)
Thanks for the words. Originally started doing a much more detailed and carved texture rather then the basic etching. However I backed off it as I want to do a simple mold.
Aww poor little pestar, he's one of my favorite figures.

These seem to fly out of the munktiki online shop I thought I'd post that TAG has a few Ikakumora in their store, over here: http://shop.toyartgallery.com/index/man ... ers_id/134

Re: Kappa, Ikakumora, Shishi and New Sculpt (page 5)
Started working on my next character. He's the Villain in my story. Controller and Creator of the Ikakumora, his name is TakoShi(Octopus Death) Comes with two heads, his helmet and his actual tentacle faced head. Will also come with a mini Ikakumora sidekick. Still a bit of mods/detailing to be done. Hope you dig it

Wow Miles! TakoShi(Octopus Death) is a knockout figure. Right up my alley. Hope we will be seeing some at TAG in the near future. I like that your starting to make this little universe where figures have a connection to each other. Will be interested in how you glaze these. Very exciting!

Re: Kappa, Ikakumora, Shishi and New Sculpt (page 5)
Thanks! Yeah I hope to eventually get some to TAG! Im trying to bring in different influences for each design despite all being a part of the same story. Heres an updated pic. Changed a couple things and started on some addition detail

Love this guy! The additions under the eyes of the human face are really special, that was a stroke of artistic genius.

Amazingly good term for Mile's work, was this just coined in your post?

This is kind of weird but I'm drawn to the growths on his pants...that was a good addition, it's the small details that help make a piece pop.

Re: Kappa, Ikakumora, Shishi and New Sculpts (page 5)
So a lot of the sculpt was inspired by old school Kamen Rider. I had a set as a kid and I feel like there was a character that had the bumps too. Cant for the life of me find any info on it now though. Other mash ups on this figure obviously being Gezora and Chibull The Clayju tag got me thinking..... In the same vein as Clayju Ive decided on a "Brand" name for all my Japanese monster themed sculpts. Yakimonomon! Yakimono, while its translation is bbq food it also means fired Pottery and Mon... well its just a shortening of Monster. Yakimonomon

Re: Kappa, Ikakumora, Shishi and New Sculpts (page 5)
well for mr, the addition of the "bumps" just server to time him in more closely to the first ikakumora sculpt... now that i see them, i couldn't do without! =p
and i'm definitely going to need one of these to wrangle my ikakumora... he's a hell-raiser on the shelves!
