I had the privilege of being able to work on this project last year. We are in the final stages of production and need help to see this thing through. I am asking for any support you can possibly give to help us get this story out. Even if you can just watch this trailer and share it on your facebook, that would be awesome!

Basically this is a film about B Boys in Guatemala City; specifically in an area called La Limonada - look it up. This area is ruled entirely by gangs with no police presence and is one of the most dangerous ghettos in all of Central America. This film highlights these young people who are using their break dancing as a means of escape from a life of violence.

I am very proud of this project, and I wanted to share the trailer with a short intro from the director. (no, I am not in this video)

Love the subject matter. Many kids today do not realize that hip hop did not spring up glorifying the worst parts of the ghetto but as an escape from those things. Kids were choosing to fight with words, records, paint and their bodies rather than guns. I have loved some of the looks into Brazilian graf, can't wait to see this.

This looks like it Academy award material. I'm guessing it won't get there, but when bullshit like that new Step Up: Revolution, can get millions for production, the real deal should be "excuse me" wiping it's ass with Benjamins. I'm going to try and scrape together some money to help, I hope others are thinking the same thing.

This is the kind of story that needs to be told to up and coming Bboys and dancers in general, I've been a breaking for over 10 years and this artform has been and still is a major part of my life. The thing that keeps me going is my crew and the freedom i get from letting go of everything and just dancing.

There have been a lot of doco's that focus too heavily on all the acrobatics, big crowds and are skewed from a competition perspective.
I really appreciate that there is this emphasis on the freedom of expression and the crew/family bond that these dancers have.
I will definitely be giving my support.

I feel like I am being repetitive, but I also feel that I must continually give my thanks for your kind words and support. The people in and behind this film mean a lot to me, and I am glad you all understand what we are trying to do.

Honestly, I hadn't even thought about that. This has always been more of a story of young people fighting to stay positive and escape the pain in their every day lives. I constantly forget that we are showcasing amazing physical skill as part of the culture as well.

Those should be pretty easy to get on and post. But if you hadn't thought of it I can think of a few more ideas. Didn't want to be presumptuous. Those are the only forums I know re music but I would search the hip hop community, Latin community, and of course film for different boards. Maybe ask http://twitchfilm.com/ to do a post as well. There must be a lot of different avenues for this and the quest may not only get your funds but create a lot of early publicity as well.

I just did a quick google search and even "B-boy message boards" gets a decent list. Love the internet with all it's wires and tubes and stuff.

I was just looking at a clip for a highlight film "I am a Ghost" at the upcoming LA Asian Pacific Film Festival. It's a horror flick but none the less the quality and presentation looked pathetic compared to yours yet it's making it's mark. Make yours!

Man, this is encouraging. I will dedicate a few hours today to searching for and posting to these message boards, what an awesome idea.

Another thing you might want to think about is twitter, I messaged a bunch of "celebrities on my twitter account. Such as The Young Turks, Cenk Ungaar. If someone link Cenk, who has a lot of followers, get's interested and tweets about your project, you'll see an insane amount of traffic. This project is really inspiring, I've been feeling down, and watching things like this makes me pause, and realize my life is really great. I really hope this get's noticed, a picked up by the mainstream. If a movie like, Step Up 4:Revolution, can get funding, and the real thing can't, I will officially lose my hope for humanity. Good luck man.
