 Re: devilman
I didn't think it was a bad price.
the removable mask one is much harder to come by thats probably only the 2nd one i've seen in the last 5 years between ebay and yja.
the packing for these bootlegs is weird, just a bunch of dinosaurs and such.

 Re: devilman
This one sold last month on YJA for ¥20k loose with most of the gold worn off his chest. So $300 ish isnt bad at all for a bagged one. Agree about the packaging, doesnt really do much for me either. ]

 Re: devilman
Late to this party but I really want one of those removable mask Devilman. Love the 'Akira' face. Often removable mask toys just have the same generic head I'm finding out.

 Re: devilman
Looks really cool, but it is unfortunate that it is unpainted. I'd rather stick to the vintage dudes anyways so maybe it is for the best, but it is nice to sometimes have affordable options. I am actually a lot more interested in some dudes on the opposite page. What magazine is that?

I think they will be painted. It's a sneak peek/coming soon photo from Hyper Hobby.

 Re: devilman
Its strange to see a KO reissued. The vintage Bandai one on the right just sold for 200K yen. That's one pricey toy.

 Re: devilman
Hmm very interesting development. As much issue as I've had with Medicom in the past it is nice that they are at least reissuing quality vintage toys, and ones that you don't see too often. My only concern for anyone wanting this reissue is that it's a Hyper Hobby exclusive. Which probably means it will not be offered overseas. Also I guess my vision is just fine because I do see a Target Earth Mecha Kong on the left page in all black that I'd love to pick up Hey agvd where do you score your issues of hyper hobby? Thanks for posting this!

 Re: devilman
Hmm, kinda dissapointed that like Michael said, the wings are so floppy. Even for this promo you'd think they'd try and get it to stand a little straighter. They still look amazing though.

 Re: devilman
As everyone has said before the original Bandai one is super hard to find, so hopefully they'll both be offered overseas. I doubt Medicom would reissue anything without securing licensing first, hopefully the agreement will include shipping overseas and not just Japan only.
Really wish the wings were like the originals though. So I take it the original versions had thicker vinyl wings (like the body) and not just that thin cape vinyl?

 Re: devilman
the original bootleg has a weird hard plastic, kind of like transparency film- but it seems kind of brittle.
this new vinyl cape material seems pretty weird too.
i love the color scheme on the boot reissue though!

 Re: devilman
Huge bummer re: floppy. I've always wanted Devilman toys in my collection and those two would be perfect if it weren't for that. Oh well, I'm sure I could find other toys to spend it on.

 Re: devilman
Want all!
My favorite part of the og bootlegs is the nail in the back that holds their wings on.
Flacid wings. Booo

 Re: devilman
I think the "flacid" wings are meant to mimic the original Bandai wings, which are soft.
Overall super psyched to see these reissued. I still need the original removable mask. I have never been willing to pay the 2k. If I was a betting man, I would bet that there is no whistle as a point of difference, as well as not having to tool up the whistle, but I have no inside info.
