I know that I enjoy some demonic / hellish / Lovecrafty sofubi monsters, so I'm intrigued by whatever this is leading me to believe. As I do not personally buy & collect resin toys, I am crossing my fingers that Shub Zeroth is birthed in vinyl Hopefully as photos and details surface, this thread can fill out nicely - after all, the teaser sketch looks handsome.

On the Meta-Crypt site, they promise to email you updates, and they thank you for signing up.
You can then poke around the logo in the corner to find a little info, but nothing major.

Over-thinking it, I adjusted dark/light levels of the page hoping for a cryptic message or image hidden in the background of the page . . . but no If anyone else has anything else to add, I'd love to know. Justin is a friend of mine, but I've yet to get any more info or imagery from him.

I can confirm/clarify several things.:

Shub Zeroth will, indeed, make himself known to us in the form of tasty Japanese vinyl, though there is a small degree of trepidatory talk about a resin prototype debuting for display at a well-known California summertime event.

His likeness has been sculpted by the one and only Miyazawa-san of Shikaruna Koubo. I cannot tell you how much of an honor that is to say.

Fostering of Shub Zeroth—both into and onto—this plane of being is, um, being deftly handled by The Fort. All hail.

Meta-Crypt is a side-pairing between Brian Ewing and myself (whom you can blame for any typos or dumb ideas).

I am beyond excited about the entire endeavor, but am now (of course) terrified that other people know about it.

Even more reason for me to whine about not being at the con this year. Pictures are acceptable, but seeing in person and/or handling is always better. I'm really glad to see that Shub Zeroth is going to be at the con in one form or another.

I did do some poking around that logo. Found a pretty sweet picture of the proto's face. This looks very promising. Thanks for the link.

I think it's a freestanding / complete toy.

It's too soon to put anything in cold, hard type on it, but the idea is that there will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 points of articulation, and he will stand in fully anthropomorphized meta-god glory.

It can be said that Shub Zeroth sees all. Knows all. But it can also be said that he is blind and unknowing. Submerged within himself at awful and crippling depths across infinite time. Unable to thrash or feel or speak...he is. He has always been.Yet, he is becoming. Something...else. And that is terrible.

For me this was promising. I wasn't really a fan of the back of the head, but after seeing the the whole figure I get it. The body really bothers me. I don't like the short fat body or the feet. I really liked the arms and head though

The body / legs / arms remind me of Dragamel in a really good way!
