Yeah, I think it needs a bit of his line work on it. If they were going to leave it blank, the should have added some textures like the ones that show up in Monroes work.

There are shitty toys made by Japanese, Chinese, and Americans. Sofubi is not sacred, it is the name for soft vinyl toys. If people were calling it Kaiju that is a different story. I think the whole point of going to Japanese vinyl is it is better quality. You can't get good looking clear vinyl from most Chinese factories. And most Chinese factories want you to get 1000's.

And to DrilOne - I wholeheartedly agree. And that's what I'm driving at - the medium doesn't matter. People are so hung up on Japanese vinyl (or sofubi!) as if it's the end-all, be-all and just by using it whatever you make out of it is worthy of reverence. People have been making lame toys in j-vinyl for years, but now it's a trendy medium and a selling point. Pffff! That's all. Give me a cool looking toy made in crusty Chinese vinyl over a lame/dumb/boring toy made in the most gorgeous of j-vinyl. Shit, my blow-molded KAWS Chums kick the crap out of most sofubi.

That looks good in clear...I threw my yellow one in a box somewhere because it didn't fit in my collection. I'd never considered purple clear on anything before.
