He's already been banned from here, but until now no one has actively stopped him from buying...

 Re: SPLURRT
As long as there are online sales you'll never be able to really stop anyone, anyone can use a different account or friends/families info. I never saw Sam's name come through on the Chocolate CK, which means he used someone else's info or bought it second hand. And it's just too much work trying to play detective. For the time I put into making these toys, I don't make much doing this. Which is fine, I do it out of love for my figures, and a hope that one day it will blossom into real opportunities.
Maybe a gallery or store like FOE can refuse to sell to him in person, but most stores wouldn't. And they will always be able to find a way to buy online. It will continue to happen, it's just how things are.

Dude you need to get your priorities straight. Walk on anyone to make a few bucks. After everyone on SB trashed you for being shady. I still gave you the benefit of the doubt because we had hung out several times and you were always cool in person. They're just stupid little pieces of plastic man. You've turn every one who is your friend or at least cool with you against you, over a few bucks. Didn't anyone ever teach you don't bite the hand that feeds you. So unfortunate. This applies to Sam as much as it does several others that still have the ability to lurk around here. There really aren't that many. And to beat the dead horse and eat it's carcass: It's as much Sam's fault as it is the fault of the buyer. I can't imagine paying 100+ for something I've bought for 40 bucks in the past. That's basically throwing away money. P.S. I once ate a horse meat sandwich.

Saying 'people do what they want with there [sic] money,' is like saying 'girls fart when they're alone.'
No doi. Some even do it when they're not alone.
But anyway, if it's not one shady scumbag, it will be another. Not to play into paranoia, but I'm kind of curious how things would wind up in his hands. It's a shame.

It's like Joe said - I'm not doing background checks on people who order from me. I barely have time to paint, respond to emails and ship orders.... As a matter of fact though, it has been brought to my attention that Sam ordered from me using his Girlfriend's name, Paypal AND address. Super shady... The guy knows that he's F-ing people over, and he's trying to hide it any way possible... It's a shame to spend so much energy making something, then selling it for a fair price only to see someone else profit massively from your work. Oh well... Life goes on.

 Re: SPLURRT
Incredible. You or Joe (or anyone selling toys, for that matter) don't really have to defend themselves, I wasn't looking for that, just kind of speculating on how things like that happen and now we know. No one should have to play 'toy cop,' and watch over sales so intently. kikaiju wrote: ok, now explain me why a boss carrion who cost 90 usd at retail goes for 200/250 usd here or every where ? who is the person who's fix the figure price ? That has absolutely nothing to do with what I was talking about or any other discussion in this thread, but ok. Boss Carrions are highly sought after. Paul obviously works very hard on them, but there will probably never be enough to meet demand. If he prices one at the amount you cited and it sells for two (or in actuality, generally five or six) times that retail price, that's because of supply and demand. That's the simple answer. A seller can sell something (or attempt to) for whatever they want, and a buyer can buy something (or attempt to) for whatever they are comfortable with. No one 'fixes' a set price in the aftermarket. Cubensis wrote: ... Wait a minute... Girls fart? Like crazy.

There's a difference between paying a little more than retail and paying 4-5x retail from a known profiteer.

Hopefully toymakers have a way to contact each other about the flipper's info and can work together to prevent them from buying

I just can't believe someone would pay so much for the baby Ruth... They were available for quite some time at the retail pricing

There should be a new thread for this topic. It is taking away from the awesomeness that is SPLURRT.

Thanks guys. It's cool to be nominated. I know a lot of collectors on here don't really care for the designer toy awards. And I personally disagree with many nominations across the categories myself. But it's cool since this years event will be happening here in nyc along NYCC and I'll be able to attend and cry and make a scene when I lose.
