Outstanding film. Saw the IMAX version yesterday. The last 20 minutes of the film closed the trilogy with a bang, closed/opened plot threads, and fulfilled all my expectations without being predictable.

What happens to Gotham mirrors class anger now, and shows a scary picture of what could come if things keep getting economically worse.

The one scene, earlier in the film, where Batman comments on Catwoman's departure while his back was turned was hilarious.

There was one scene that had me cracking up so bad.. very similar to a scene in the previous movie if you get my drift.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie; if you're familiar with the Knightfall arc in the Batman comics, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. It is an adept modernization of the crazy '90s comic storyline.

Some of the other superhero movies that have attempted trilogies faltered in the end, but I agree that this was a strong finish. Possibly the best of the three Nolan Batman movies.

I think the thing I liked most about this movie is that Christopher Nolan wanted to always direct a movie about Bruce Wayne...and not just Batman. He made you care the character and in that regard it was highly successful.

Some day it would be great to see a reboot showing Batman's detective skills. I don't anything like has really been done.

It might be safe. I was definitely avoiding this thread until I saw it, but now I can come in and say that I really liked it! I thought it would be awesome, but I was afraid that it wouldn't be, so I was pleasantly surprised that it was!

PS - Maybe I could look into adding a "hidden text" type of feature to the board for this sort of thing…

I was not a Batman fan in terms of comics, but I did pick these up when the Bane story was first introduced (and pre-hyped) back then. I must say, I loved the story. I thought they did an amazing job through all the various Batman comics of the day (i.e., multiple covers, including Detective Comics, Batman, and I forget what else) of showing his non-stop action and eventual exhaustion from fighting all the various villains. For those not familiar with the original story line (and this is not a spoiler since the movie does not follow this story line), Bane releases every villain locked up in the Arkham Asylum. So Batman has to work non-stop fighting every villain he ever captured to "recollect" all of these bad guys. Obviously, this takes its toll on Batman, and we see him suffering from lack of rest as he goes from one villain to another. Finally, when he is nearly completely broken down, Bane shows up and beats the crap outta him. It was really well done in the comics, and you really felt that Batman was wearing down as you followed him in multiple comics each month in continual action. IMO, that was one of the best story lines I recall reading in comics. I don't remember how they explained the origin of Bane in the comics and whether it was consistent with the movie, though.

i always thought bane was supposed to pump himself up with steroids & get really huge.

Loved the movie anyways & can't wait for the next! Feel like I should go back and watch the other two

Honestly, I think this sort of thing could have been done cinematically, and would have given the confrontation between Bane and Batman so much more significance. Having Wayne be a broken recluse and out of shape after 8 years out of the action was a really boring set up IMO. I also felt like we didn't see Bane inspire fear and create hope in the people of Gotham. You just saw fear, and so it never seemed like he was so masterful as he said he was going to be in torturing the people of Gotham like he said he would. I don't think this was intentional. It seemed more like poor storytelling to me.

Alfred and Catwoman stole the show. I also enjoyed Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
