 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Refresh my mind...Is Mike sick?
In Season5 episode one he first appears really weak..that is until walt and jesse show up.
Then in episode 2 same thing. He seems more frail at times.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Mike got shot in Mexico. The injury was serious enough that he had to stay down there to recuperate for a while. That's why Walt was able to get the jump on Gus.
Also jelly of that red shitter the Madrigal guy got to sit on when he offed himself.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
The red theme in the Madgrigal men's room reminded me a bit of "The Shining" but I think that was merely coincidental. For me the most salient thing about that scene was that Herr Schuler used a life-saving defibrilator to abruptly end his life.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
i loved the scene where hank, gomez, and merkert are drinking in the office. the chief is talking about gus being right under his nose at the dinner party, and the camera shot on hank's face is a clear foreshadowing (imo) to the inevitable faceoff between him and walt. awesome

Unless it's common knowledge in Germany that you can kill yourself by sticking a defibrillator in your mouth, he must have done some google searches to figure out how to do himself in. He had clearly already made up his mind long before sampling the "Franch" sauce. When I think back on how he put aside all the sauces and just started eating the chicken, it was like he was "eating his own dog food".

Yeah, by "abruptly" I only meant that his death appeared to come quickly. I'm trained in using those things and had no idea that they could be used in a lethal manner.

I don't actually know. Anyway, if it was just a matter of artistic license, I figure the writers are entitled. I recently saw an article about how realistic "Breaking Bad" is, but some things on the show definitely seem a bit exaggerated, which doesn't bother me one bit. Best thing on TV.

Don't know if anyone brought it up, but one thing I like is that Walt always cuts the crust off his PB&J sandwiches. Reminding everyone of his first kill, when he was still an innocent man.

Actually this was brought up by Vince Gilligan in this weeks BB podcast. He mentioned it and that's where I got that from Dean wrote: Rich wrote: Because they cant, that I know of. Re: I heart Breaking Bad
i've been avoiding this thread for the longest time mainly because i just started the show about a month ago, and am finally all caught up. let's just say that i'm hooked. i was just starting season 4 during comic-con, and Winu and I got super lucky and were able to go to the breaking bad signing. one of my favorite con pick-ups, and it was totally free. included is a bag of rock candy that looks like crystal meth. i asked bryan to sign it, and he put W.W. on it.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
DeJusus, Awesome comic con fun!! The rock candy is scary and funny. I just borrowed the dvd seasons from a friend. I started on them last night but I didn't get far. It sounds like a great series.

Haha while watching all I thought was "maybe in Germany they're different?" but yeah, they ONLY work if there's an "irregular" heart rhythm. SO you can have a heart beat but it needs to be irregular. I thought somehow, maybe with the pad off, it sensed it? I kept trying to rationalize it until I stopped caring because it's a cool show.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Very cool, DeJesus! Cranston seems to be such a great guy. I'm almost surprised to hear that he signed the candy meth as he has been adamantly anti-meth in interviews ("stop using!") but your account shows he's got a good sense of humor. When the current season is over, it's going to be so hard to wait another year for the finale!
Rich and BD, thanks for the technical clarifications.

After you guys came to the booth and showed that to me, I ran over there and had my first real comic-con geek out moment since I started going...I didn't get the poster or the meth, but got some handshakes and some fanboy gushing in... I felt pretty stupid afterwards, but really got caught up in the moment and the huge crowd...I felt like a real attendee for a second! most recent episode was great btw...Jonathan Banks rules...

So are we really going to have to wait till Summer 2013 after these 8 episodes are shown or will it be a break and maybe resume in Winter/Spring 2013? They should have just done a 10/10 spilt if it's going to be done by Sept 2nd till next summer.

 Re: I heart Breaking Bad
Just had a look at a very entertaining interview with Cranston on Kevin Pollak's Chat Show. Some of the information covered has appeared elsewhere, the interview was conducted between the 3rd and 4th seasons, but Cranston is just so warm, engaging, funny and real that I wasn't bored for a minute of the almost two hour conversation. You can stream the whole thing over at the KPCS website, or you can just go the Hulu route. If you just want to grab the audio you can download it here. Jump to the seventeen-minute mark if you want to land right at the beginning of the fantastic one-on-one.
