definitely digging the TMNT vibe. Don't write off Kickstarter, It's worked on some cool toys, and failed on some shitty toys. Also, going the Glyos style plastic/ joint system allows for a lot of playability/ customization.

Excellent Griz but I wouldn't expect less. I actually prefer your initial sketches? Why fight figure? Seems like you're compromising your idea to make it a fight figure. I'd prefer these guys non fight figure and bigger. Maybe 6 or 7 inches. And I like the bent legs.

this. dont compromise what you want/ think looks cool just to fit into the fight figure genre. these will appeal to those who want to buy them regardless of what they are classified as.

id buy a resin if that came first.

Honestly guys I didn't give up any of my vision. I honestly want these to be playable fight figures. that was my vision from the start. and since making some changes I honestly love them even more. I hope at some point I can find a scanner in the isolation that is my job and post the remodeled characters.

I like where these are heading but fear (as seems to be the way with US toy makers) all the micro run releases, collaborative shenanigans and all the usual suspects throwing stupid $$$ at 'em on the secondary market will make 'em too much hassle to commit to collecting.

Speaking as a Brit collector it's still way easier and more satisfying to do the research, pay the dues and buy OG Japanese stuff direct from Japan than dick around to try buy one of 5 pieces dropping at some obscure time on a pissant US webstore.

If it's done properly with decent volume I could really get behind 'em!

I'm thinking of actually talking to Matt over at onell and getting them made with them. That way I could keep them reasonably priced and perfect to actually be smashed together and played with.

sorry to dredge up this old thread. But After all this time I'm happy to say this project is moving forward!

This is a super rough draft. The UnBox team essentially sketched this from a one angle drawing. Stay tuned.

Glad to see you've kept up the development on these guys Grizz. As others have pointed out, I prefer sticking with as much detail as you can, as the characters (these type) really come alive with more stuff there. I have to second the thoughts on distancing these from FF too, if you can. Keep 'em larger and normal proportioned, as 'purists' will probably never appreciate them anyways, vinyl or no. I dig them a lot, the more gruesome counterparts to the TMNT style figures; what you would expect from authentic comic art, rather than 90s cartoony.

I'm diggin' these initial designs a lot, as well. But I, too, don't really see this going in the genre/direction of fight figures. I could be misconstrued or just flat out wrong, as I'm still super new to it all. I personally have a very specific idea and visual when it comes to fight figures in my head. Even still, a 6" or 7" figure of these dudes would definitely hit my shelf.
