 Amazing art restoration
Quote: Cecilia Gimenez, an amateur art restorer, says she thought she could fix a 19th-century painting belonging to a Spanish church in Borja. http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/video/2012/aug/23/art-restorer-ecco-homo-mural-videoThis made my day even better.

 Re: Amazing art restoration
Read up on this a couple of days ago. As funny as it is, the poor woman only had the best of intentions. Probably feels really horrible about the whole thing.

 Re: Amazing art restoration
This makes me feel much better about the time/s I have tried to fix something only to make it much worse. At least my personal screw ups haven't ended up on the internet (yet)! Feel sorry for her but man did I need that laugh!!!! Reminds me of the Mr. Bean movie. Great supporting photo-shopped photos! -GS

C'mon she did have great intentions BUT before she started the painting she should could have purchased canvas or paper for a trail run. The results are hilarious. It's just so bad.

I watched the video of her being interviewed. She is definitely not feeling bad about what she did; she has a sort of defiant tone when speaking about it. She was also described as an "amateur art restorer". Amateur! Not even close. I don't feel bad for this loon at all. She deserves all the ridicule that she's getting. I do, however, feel bad for Martinez' granddaughter.

I like this one for obvious reasons: I love Christ the Redeemer statue and I live in Rio!

 Re: Amazing art restoration
At least we have the before shots. To think, centuries from now, they'll be trying to restore THAT restoration.

Hahahah, just when you thought it would not get any worse (or comical). Woman who botched Spanish fresco of Jesus wants royalties
