I saw an exhibition of comic art at HeroesCon last year. There was a Kirby Fantastic Four page and for some reason I was transfixed by this panel of The Thing looking down a hole. So awesome.

A Picture of The King Of Kings By The King Of Comics... Happy Birthday Jack See Ya In The Fourth World
While I cannot say anything about the man personally, never having met him, I can that from his artwork he was truly a king among men. What he accomplished for comics will never again be matched, nor do I think his influence on the genre (and of course all the fans who grew up with him) can ever be truly measured.
I always liked his Eternals, O.M.A.C, and especially his 1970's Sandman.

Has it been a year already? Happy Birthday Jack, your work remains timeless and unequaled. so hard to pick favourites from such a master, but this spread captures a lot of why I love his style

Re: JACK KIRBY
I remember not 'getting' Kirby as a kid. Then at some point I picked up 'How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way' and I was just blown away by his control of focus and true dynamic action. Now I can't think of an artist I love that doesn't trace their own influence back to Kirby as a major inspiration.
So I just read about this temporary Kirky Museum the Jack Kirby Museum and Research Center has set up. I am not sure if it is traveling to other areas in the US, but currently is set up in New York's Lower East Side. Check the website for more info, but I would recommend any locals with the chance take some time to stop on by. I think it might only be there for the next week or so.
