I have a handful of new projects in the works. Not sure what will be finished first. More resin and vinyl. Hopefully something new by the end of the year.

So its finally happening, and Stegoforest is going to be made in vinyl. Decided to be totally open about the process too for anyone interested in knowing about that sort of thing...

Currently Stegoforest and the Acorn Warrior are sitting in Japan, waiting for me to say go on starting the process. The only reason I haven't yet is that there is another mini figure being made right now to go with it. So once that is finished and sent out the process will officially start.
The second mini figure is being sculpted by HipHopRobots wife Maren. I will post pictures when I have them.
Mark (HHR) is the only reason that Stegoforest is going to be seen in vinyl. He has amazingly helped me fund the whole thing pretty much.

so for those interested...
here is the price breakdown I received to get Stegoforest and the 2 mini figures made in vinyl...

Joints: 83,000 JPY (this is pretty high - reason being, the back
spines are going to be a very difficult joint and will take quite a
bit of time for them to do)
Molds: 109000 JPY (3 molds)
Foot Stamp: 5000 JPY
Subtotal: 197,000 JPY
Tax (5% of sub): 9850 JPY
Producers Fee (15% of sub): 29,550 JPY
Wax Proto: 140,000 JPY
Total: 376,400 JPY

376400 Japanese yen = 4786.3777 US dollars

Stegoforest is 5 pieces. head, body, front left leg, spine and tail spikes. The head and leg being separate wasnt necessary, but I wanted them to be articulated.
The two minis are single pieces and will be finger puppet style.

3 molds would have been necessary even if I just did Stegoforest alone. But there is room on those to fit two minis.

that's a hell of an investment, jesse... really looking forward to seeing these happen, though!

Tell me about it. Do the calculations and you'll see that making the money back is going to take a long time if at all.
But Im doing it because I love the toy and want to see it in vinyl.

it was really fun to paint. gotta say i fell in love with this guy. resin was kinda rough to do with this guy im sure. jesse did a hell of a job pouring these!!!!!!!!!!!

i can't wait to see these guys in clear vinyl.

Jesse has invested a ton of time and money so far. This will look amazing in vinyl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and to even be a part of it was an extremely great opportunity. It just has to be DONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Beth the sculptor of the stego, is awesome as well. There are so many great things about this toy.

Jesse is also less of a procrastinator than I, so i know we can make this happen.

I love my yellow and purple resins, always looking to add more!

Maybe do a fund raising HP run for supporters to recoup molding cost? I'm in for 1 (or more lol)

as for the idea of a fund raising hp run...

we HAVE the funds already. so we don't need to ask for help, BUT...
i was contacted by a board member who was interested in helping out. and from his reaching out we came up with this..

if you are willing to send us $500, we will give you 1 of every painted run that we do (excluding store exclusives) until your $500 dollars is paid back. So basically, if a painted stegoforest cost $50 (we haven't decided a cost yet) you will get the first 10 painted ones sent to you as payback for your investment.

then after you are paid back, you will have first dibs on all future painted runs indefinitely.

we will also stick test pulls and other fun things in random boxes of the people that are part of this. And I might come up with other cool things too.

so it is kind of like a stegoforest club i guess.

because we already have the money, we don't need to do this, but since one board member already signed up for it we decided to offer it to everyone.
$500 is a lot of money, but you are getting paid back in toys, plus you are getting the extra stuff just because i felt like it.

So awesome to hear this toy is going to vinyl! I really like the sculpt and concept of stegoforest. I can't wait to see how the new mini comes out either. A guts stego would be insane to hopefully see one day.

So here's an update on where we are at with the vinyl stegoforest...

patience is the word when it comes to this project.
after a couple delays we are looking to see our first test pulls around my birthday in may.
