^ I'm a blu ray addict ( 335 on the shelves....) but I stopped buying steels due to higher prices and my ocd regarding their condition. Steelbooks seem to be very delicate and prone to denting and scratching, so I will only buy them occasionally, my most recent purchases being the BestBuy Lord of the Rings trilogy ( Tolkien nerd alert ! ) I also have two copies of the holy grail SDCC Suckerpunch steel ( one slightly damaged, the other still shrink wrapped ), Green Lantern, Scarface, Jurassic Park trilogy, and The Book of Eli.

BTW....is that Avengers steel the $5 pre order from BestBuy ?

@ Bitterpill. Wow, 335 blu-rays is an impressive collection. I've read some horror stories about steelbooks posted in flimsy thin cardboard mailers. Personally i have had no issues. The Avengers is an Australian release - 3d, standard blu and digital download (jb hifi exclusive). Jurassic is an Australian Universal 100th anniversary release. Rango is a German release. Ironman 2 is a Play.com UK release and Safehouse + Total Recall are both UK releases from amazon.co.uk. I'm still hunting the HMV UK version of Thor & Captain America but they are going for ridiculous dollar$ at the moment. Hopefully prices will settle down sometime soon.

Reading your post ( and spending entirely too much time on bluray.com ) makes me realize I need to invest in a region free player at some point...
Here's a pic of my SuckerPunch steels....at one point this was going for $400 plus on ebay....crazy. I love the Alex Pardee art.

Sold out now. He's done others too for C.H.U.D. and Slasher Cop. I think he's working on something new too for around Halloween.

I've been looking for this book for over 10 years and finally found it on Mandarake international :)

I had a print-out of the cover and showed it to all the shop keepers when i was in Japan . . . but didn't have any luck.
I will always remember one elderly second-hand book shop owner in Kyoto - he grinned, shook his head and waved his finger at me in a 'naughty boy' kind of gesture.

All the pages are readily available online but i dont care . . . . you cant beat having the actual book in your hands.

^^ Thanks.

The book is bilingual too which is a bonus. The translation to English is a bit clunky though . . .
for example, in the introduction, they refer to 80's horror movies as 'Splutter' films

I bought the Wizards digibook too....love the packaging effort they put into the release. Is the carving on the IB gun handle actually embossed on the steel ? If so, that's cool. Agreed on SuckerPunch. It's a visually stunning B movie....nothing more.
