Well in fairness to the seller it was his brother using his account to sell it. This is also why it's going to be a pain in the ass to get anything to happen. According to the auction he had 3 and took pictures of his and kept it so I'm trying to get him to send me his minty box for my craptastic box.
Yeah fedex sticker came off but of course left residue. Havent even tried the packaging tape...

i have heard this story countless time where people say its not their ebay account its my brothers. I mean its not that hard to get your own account. Someone has to be accountable.!

Unfortunately my box came about the same way. It was basically wrapped in paper and sent with no cushioning so corners were crushed and stress wrinkles abound.
The guy dealt mostly with shoes so I think he sent stuff this way all the time. I felt like a dick to bad feedback him since it was in the 300's positive or so. I suggested that in the future he take better care of packaging toys as they were graded as part of the collectibility value.
In the end, the toy is what matters to me and I don't have any plans to sell it anytime soon.
Your case is clearly more heinous than mine because packing stickers right on the box is pretty boneheaded.

Ouch! I hope everything works out in the end.
I had a friend who once won an auction on ebay for a vintage mint in box diecast toy.The seller went into detail about the condition of the box, it was really nice until he folded the top flap, wrapped it about 10 times with packaging tape and stuck the shipping label directly on the toy box. Diecast toys do not hold up as well as vinyls...Damn

Well fortunately for me the guy's account his brother used is taking responsibility for it. He has partially refunded me. I'm happy, he's happy and we're going to get married next wednesday..........
What a relief, I was so convinced I would be totally screwed. Yeah I've still got a shitty box but this thing is going to be mine indefinitely.

and if someones brother sold it, then its someones brother's problem.
thats their issue, not yours.

Yeah my jaw dropped when I saw the box. Luckily my fresh new top quality stormtrooper armor was sitting underneath it to absorb the punch to the gut.

You know... I always wondered why the hell stormtroopers wore armor at all. The armor didn't stop blaster fire, it didn't stop light sabers, ewoks beat the hell out of them with rocks and pointy sticks...
What practical purpose did it serve?

Haha let alone how bad they are at shooting. The armor is quite crude as well for it being the future and all. There are supposedly companies making "idealized" versions of stormtrooper armor that will be really nice symmetrical and smooth suits. Takes a big nerd to get excited about that I know.

I remember that auction! I even had it bookmarked and was considering bidding on it! Thankfully I didn't.
Funny thing about it was the seller/description goes on about how winner will get ""freshie" box unopened, hasn't seen the light of day, blah blah" sort of thing and then it get's sent the way it did.... weird.
Oh well, glad you some money back! ....and congrats on the upcoming nuptials!
(I'm definitely never buying through this seller)
