so I find it sad (this is my nice way of putting it) that today is both talk like a pirate day and don't text and drive day, I have heard many talk like pirates and going crazy about it on facebook but have heard no one say a thing about texting and driving, this my friends is one of the MANY things wrong with people today

Every day should be "don't text and drive day".

For years I've been wanting to invent the cell phone that shuts off when you go above say 15mph or just past driveway speed. Provider companies would lobby the shit against it though.

I just thought the other day that it would be cool if cars could have some sort of signal blocker, but then we'd see people texting with their arm out the car window...

I'm sure with your idea the phones GPS could monitor the speed of the individual and turn off signal, but then what about passengers??

So many ad agencies toss made up awareness days out there to their clients it's just silly. Topped off with some imaginary celebration in times square or whatever. In a few years every single day will actually be some dumb awareness day no one cares about.

I don't know about you guys, but I won't even answer my phone if I'm driving let alone text. If you're driving you should focus on that, it's too easy to not pay attention for a split second, and that's all the time it takes.
