I recently wrote an expose on arseholes and jerks.
A jerk thinks he's an expert on everything but knows nothing and doesn't realise they offend everyone they meet.
An arsehole realises they are offensive, they just get off on the trouble they cause. It empowers them.

I'm an arsehole by default . . . but it's primarily down to the world being full of jerks these days!

Jerks are worse than arseholes.
Arseholes are very deliberate with their attacks, jerks are amazingly clueless about how what they say effects people.
My cousin is the worst kind of jerk, he actually tells women "Wo, you look fat in that."
The last time I saw him he said to me "Dude, you got old and fat in the last five years!"
He had to leave the country and move to Germany because no-one here could stand him....apparently he got to his new job and used the word "nazis" in a sentence. No more job.

OKay, I promise this will be my last bike-themed FU [for this year]. This one is just such a mind-boggling doozy I felt I had to share it. So, after a night of migraine headache I am treated to the sound of jackhammering at 730 in the morning. Turns out that they are tearing up the 'parc' just down from my house. I use the term 'parc' lightly, as it is such named, depsite being a mere empty property where children are best to stay away from, and is not really a green space at all, but I digress...

So the City of Montreal workers, in their infinite wisdom - and what I can only interpret to be either a act of sheer sadistic genius or utter incompetence and buffoonery (I am leaning towards the latter, but if you are reading this, please feel free to correct me) - decided to cut off every single lock from the dozen or so bicycles that were locked up on the bike racks at said parc. Keep in mind these are racks the city provides, with the clear intent of suggesting resident might use them to secure their bicycles.

Now, as I was walking in to work and passed this scene of carnage, I foolishly assumed 'oh, they seperated the bike racks and put them [not so] nicely on the side, and they will reattach them later' odd, but let's go with it. So, returning home at night I now see where there were a great many bicycles is now only two laying on the side of the road, and I can clearly see that all the locks have been actually cut. Mine is actually one of the ones left there, but I am surmising that this stroke of luck has befallen me only because it is a piece of junk that no one can ride off with with only one wheel anyways.

If you have been following my recent exploits you will no doubt have realised that a locked bike in Montreal is apparently like a gift from the gods, so you can imagine what unlocked bikes laying on the street at night are seen as. So as anyone with half a brain can probably figure where all the rest of the bikes went. All this without any kind of signs posted or notice given to local tenants, before or after the fact. So merci a vous Ville de Montreal, for your absolute brilliance and astonishing feat in not only fucking over all the people whose bikes those were, but giving an extra prop up to all the dirtbags who care less about other people's property.

that really sucks

gather up a group of locals and confiscate a crane or a few jackhammers until the city replaces your bikes.
call local news or Les francs-tireurs,
or lock your bikes onto their trucks, machinery and inside the porta potties..

Oh definitely. Nevermind my griping, or take it to mean anything against the city/province. Corruption and ineptitude abound wherever you go, and there are a hell of a lot of notches in the positive belt. I love it like I do my country, and reserve the right to complain about it just as equally.

Fuck you to Banfield Pet Hospital's pet insurance policies! Here's my story:

My cat started acting like he was getting this flu-type virus that he does every couple of years about two weeks ago. He seemed like he was getting dehydrated fast so we took him in a week ago to get checked up. Well, it turns out that all of these years that this recurring virus that he had was probably a form of F.I.P. By 1 in the morning Sunday he had passed away.

I just got his ashes back today and called the customer service number for the Wellness Plan (pet insurance) to cancel it, for rather obvious reasons. I was told that because my plans' year had just begun in June, and our bills so far hadn't totaled out the deductible or whatnot that I still owe them like $200. I've had this plan for him since he was a kitten and he was 10 this year. I can't believe that from a customer service, not to mention humane person-to-person, point of view that they wouldn't just call us even and cancel it outright.

I'm not really angry, I think. I'm just depressed. I'm sorry for posting up a downer of an FU, but thanks for reading it.

F F F U U U to the lady who called where I work repeatedly this afternoon, incensed that she was contacted via email despite asking not to be. The offending email was a fucking automated response confirming that the comment she willingly submitted on our company website had been received, and clearly marked as such. Seriously, they need to make the interweb harder to get on. Its not for everyone.

seriously, she called back to back to back and screamed at the receptionist... over an automated response to the comment she submitted. an automated response!

I use to laugh my ass off whenever I got assigned "check the voicemails" at my old newspaper job. People would be so angry yelling into a voicemail and repeatedly calling back going on an on. Usually over nothing or a political view- we were too liberal for most rednecks. I just had my finger on 7 for delete as soon as I heard nonsense. I gave me great pleasure to erase all the dumb effort they put into their rant.

I swear I've been a lot less angry since I left that place. Now it's mainly idiot drivers, lazy college kids, and the ever present right wingers/ political/ corporation thing.
