Post How Many People Collect This Stuff Worldwide??
I'm curious as to how many people Worldwide collect newer Japanese Vinyl like Secret Base, Gargamel, Real x Head, Bounty Hunter, etc.

I'm guessing like a couple of thousand?

maybe. but it seems since most neo kaiju runs are 150 or less pieces,,,theres not that big a scene. I would iumagine a LOT more people here and in J collect the 'original kaiju'.

I would say a lot more people in the states collect this stuff than in all of Asia.

That's crazy! I figured this stuff was a "little" bigger over in Japan. But I also figured that most/all US collectors at least know of this board, and probably post.
It's pretty cool that so few people can keep companies like SB, etc going.

100 plus ='a lot'.

toy collecting is seen as pretty degenerate by most of my japanese friends. They dont get it all.

Plus, like was mentioned earlier, I think the kaiju stuff is more popular in Japan than SB, Gargamel, etc. I'd think Marusan, Marmit, M1-go have a bigger fan base because they don't do original (unknown) figures, just pre-existing characters/reissues. Even that's a niche, though, too.

Fuck what people think. STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU THINK RULES!! GET THAT SHIT OUT THE CLOSET! People come to my house and a freaked out by all the records and toys. they say "they still make record players" and "the glow ones scare me". I just laugh because I know the true inspiration power of Vinyl!!!

I just said 200 about these underground figures(SB, gargamel, rumble, etc...). there are so many more figures getting released to much bigger audience. this stuff is just small part of toy collecting. This is a rough estimate based on the people I have run into online and people that order from us.

yeah set the toys free! When people come to our house they see 30+ years of collecting shit (can't even get started on my office) My wife and I have both collected (she her disney cuteness and me my wierd shit) for three decades so the stuff is all free range over the entire house. Even our two daughters are collectors-- we taught them well. I figure if people come by and can't handle it, that's their problem... love us, love our toys...

Every once in awhile someone will show a little interest, and I’ll point out the different types and manufactures, and as much history that I can, MaDeRe saw it once and said it was like watching a young Vincent Price as a museum curator, I couldn't be more proud of being weird!
