Psyched on my preorder for the new Bog! I was sitting on lulubell for like 20mins after 1p waiting for it to be up haha. Now ill have two: this one and the OG green colorway, really bummed i missed the last productionone, def my favorite so far.

I would like to know what happened to the rest of the pre-order bogs? So far from what I remember only 4 of the six have made their way to our hands. We are still missing the Lottery and mystery releases... unless this counts as one of those? I can't keep track anymore. Anyone know what is going on with those?

That sucks since its a public release! I guess its the "mystery..."

I'm very relieved I didn't do the preorder, gosh knows I was tempted to for a good while. The only Bog from the package that I actually liked was the Blue Velvet Crusher version and I sold it after a couple of weeks. I also had a Skinner NYCC HP version that I traded to a big Siccaluna collector. This most recent Magma one is so boring and not a reflection of Skinner's work whatsoever. It's like when a band has a record deal they're trying to get out of and rush to release a new album. Or something.

I love Skinner, I love Siccaluna, but I've tried and just can't get into this sculpt.

Personally I think the sculpt is amazing, especially the articulated wrists. I think what it lacks is Skinner painting them all. This toy really shines when he lays hands on it. Other people are great painters for sure but they aren't Skinner. Sculpt aside this toy is all him and they need/deserve the detailed paint apps he does so well.

I agree, I love the sculpt. It's probably my favorite currently, the poseability is great. I got the $200 (1 prototype/1 siccaluna one-off) pre-order and don't regret it at all.

I also agree that Skinner paints the toy the best. I have all the production releases and three Skinner customs and the customs definitely stand out. Of course, they also cost three times as much as the production releases.

In the future (in addition to the standard releases/Skinner customs) I think it would be great if Lulubell Japan did runs painted by different artists. If they did a run of, for example, Blobpus Bogs that would probably appeal to people who like the toy but don't like the standard paint schemes and don't want to pay for a Skinner custom.

Skinners customs he had for sale at SDCC were incredible. i think he did three identical ones and i know where two of them ended up: the owners arent even kaiju collectors!! Hopefully i can grab one second hand for cheap one day hehehe

I agree that this latest release isnt gret but i needed a second bog, would love to trade it for the blue velet edition tho....

yeah I dunno about this guy and his skull pants. a lot of the paint apps are pretty disgusting too (satan king looks good on anything bc it's fkng satan king!). it's just too busy overall but then again I've never really seen skinner embrace the 'less is more' design ethos.
I did however enjoy reading about cumbagz n pooperdoodz buying multiples of these for his juggalo friends. did I get that right?

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one feeling foolish, tapping away like a madman for twenty minutes, waiting for the pre-sale to open. Glad I got one, but was surprised it took over a day to sell out.

I can't really see how that will work. To me the wilkowski style works best inside figures that have pared down shapes and smooth lines. The whole beauty of the Bog is in the detail of the sculpt.
A clear Bog with a skeleton inside seems to defeat the purpose. in fact, it sounds super messy.

that said, that 1 Grody from Dcon is super nice. congrats.

I think your arguments are solid: it could be a diaster, but hoping theyd be able to make it work out.

The dcon 1off is pretty solid, wish it mas a tad more purple but whatevs. They also had a custom bog with a mammoth head thats was pretty sick. It was a lottery and the first guy bought it

Does anyone know if there are still any talks of making the "bust" style bog that was talked about before this version was made?

Did anyone grab the Bog from NYCC? They were $200. A little steep for me that day for 1 toy, but killer nonetheless.

yeah, I thought it was too much for the toy the paint app was not worth the price tag.

I was lucky enough to get a GID bog from mandrake a few months back. Killer detail on the guy, so those apps that just cover it all with one solid color really dont do it for me.

Yup, the orange was really really bright. Great stuff, but I had my funds allocated elsewhere by the time I rolled over to that booth. I think there were only 4 total.

They were pretty cool, and I was surprised they didn't go super quick at the con. Since it seems like each header was handpainted by Skinner.

$200 not bad, his last two HP small runs went for $300 a pc. But i guess those other ones did have far more elaborate paint apps...
