Post Re: Stoner/Doom
^ I like long. Downloaded and will definitely check it out soon.

Anyone into Necro Deathmort? I found out about them because one of the guys from Astrohenge is in the band. I am listening to their newest album, the Colonial Script, right now and I highly recommend it for anyone into drone doom and industrial / electronic. Their previous album, Music of Bleak Origin, is also pretty exceptional (I've not heard their first, so I can't say regarding that).

Quote:
http://distractionrecords.bandcamp.com/ ... ial-script

The plaudits continue for London duo Necro Deathmort. After quietly unleashing first album This Beat is Necrotronic onto an unsuspecting but appreciative world back in 2009, the pair released unanimously-praised Music of Bleak Origin in 2010, which saw them refine their doom-meets-heavy bass template to remarkable effect. No wonder that they have supported Ulver, Shining, and d.USK among others, added Roadburn, Sonar, Supersonic, Asymmetry to their ever-expanding festival list, and remixed the likes of Ulver and Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree). And now AJ Cookson and Matthew Rozeik go one step darker into the abyss with undoubtedly their strongest, heaviest and most accomplished album yet: The Colonial Script.

It's all what you expect and then some. Dingy, gritty sounds that creeps, lurks, builds, elongates, teases, and piledrives you in the face with switchblade beats and apocalyptic crescendos. And that's just in the first tune. Over the course of the nine tracks, you can expect to hear grainy, doomy ambience, whirlpools of 23hz low-end scuzz, acidburn waspsynth buzz, thudding and juddering feedback-ridden roars, distorted nihilistic yelps, doomscaping visceral breaks, buzzsawing smackstrung loops, all seamlessly weaved together in a brutal but beautiful tapestry. Maximum volume yields maximum results.

Gonna have to try to make it again. If I do I'll get to chat up toys with KJB.

Killer flyer art.

I just read that Pallbearer are playing as well.

Belzebong fucking rules!

Their distributor Emetic Records sucks though. Ordered the CD and when it came in it was cracked with the shrink wrap still around it. Emailed them with a picture and everything asking if I could send it back and get a new one. All I got was "No."

Dude, EVOM -- I can't stop listening to Goya lately. I bought their demo and one of their shirts and talked to Jeff from the band about possibly doing design work for them in the future. Who knows if that will pan out, but I offered and would love to (and have always wanted to do band design work). Thanks again for turning me onto them.

This needs to be reposted: http://marijuana.bandcamp.com/

Haha, definitely will do!

Seriously. Not my favorite of theirs, but there are a few tracks that are just absolutely killer and it's incredibly solid from start to finish. The track I linked earlier in this thread, White Light Suicide, is my favorite on the album. After the 2:42 mark -- Holy shit. I have to crank it every time.

Hatred for Mankind is one of my favorite albums in recent memory. I'm kind of sad I preordered a Pallbearer hoodie since I want to get that DiS hoodie + 12" bundle. I'd get both, but it's not really all that necessary in Florida, haha (still may do it).

Bell Witch two-piece crushing funeral-ly doom from Seattle. They're touring with the awesome noise rock band KEN mode currently (definitely should have worn earplugs when I saw the latter).
