Sanjeev wrote: From what I've heard, the normal figures are pretty much sold out everywhere in Japan too. They're definitely a hit. I'm guessing at this rate, there's gonna be an anime...and Hasbro will eventually import them (for far cheaper than the importer prices we're seeing now). That's just my theory though... The regular figures are readily available over here.. Series 2 just came out... for fun I put all the product shots up in a flicker set.

I like the bat. The little turtle dude looks cool too. Thanks for posting the info and pics.

Re: Takara Tomy Beast Saga Sofubi?
The indication is Hasbro will not be importing Beast Saga, at least in the next 6 months to a year.
My take is that they don't want to compete with the similar game+toys they already have on the market (Botshots, Beyblade).

Re: Takara Tomy Beast Saga Sofubi?
I am guessing these come blind-bagged, due to the 'gaming' nature of them, is that so? It would be alright to pick one or two I like, but as I am never going to be a kid collecting and trading them off, I am a bit tired of blind-bagged toys. More often than not I will buy none, to avoid shelling out so much on 'stinkers.'

Re: Takara Tomy Beast Saga Sofubi?
Most are available as singles (non blind), themed three packs (non blind), or the clear varients which are blind boxed. Also a new neat discovery for me, they are the same scale as Glyos Armorvors!

Re: Takara Tomy Beast Saga Sofubi?
That's good news to me as well. I've gotten to the point where, once opened, I just buy the blind bag items that I want from the secondary market, which usually always means it's going to be more expensive than when buying it blind bagged at "retail".
And kudos to single packs! If you remember, the old ones in America were mainly available in double packs & unless you're a completist, you'd end up w' characters that you could care less for. ALTHOUGH, double packs do make good for trading. But this is great if you're like me, and don't plan on collecting them all.

I'm Definitely interested, DK, I just can't get 'em at the moment.
I have decided though, this is indeed a line I want to begin collecting post holidays.

Re: Takara Tomy Beast Saga Sofubi?
Just got the boxed set of the whale, orca, wolf, panther, parrot and eagle in. The weapon plastic is MUCH improved, not so wobbly and warpable.

Really, Dokuroking?!
Funny thing - I've actually had your Sales Thread open in a separate browser tab since I saw you put them up. Keepin my fingers crossed that they'd hang around until I make sure all of my Christmas shopping's out of the way, at least.
So this is Great News! Seriously!
Thanks, Skullbrother!
I'll go check them out & send you a PM in a bit.
WooHoo!

I got both versions of the lion and a clear shark. I preordered the turtle since it is the greatest figure ever and one more clear.

Scroll down for pictures of the Beast Saga Sofubi: http://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_sb_nos ... 1352244959I was hoping for more paint, or something that wasn't just big-versions-of-the-smaller-figures.

Re: Takara Tomy Beast Saga Sofubi?
Are we sure those are actually final pics of the sofubi? I mean, they look pretty damn similar to the photos of the lil PVC guys! Could just be there for reference...
Anyway, I don't mind 'em. The price is certainly right (they HAVE to be Chinese, obviously).

Re: Takara Tomy Beast Saga Sofubi?
Not sure about final pics, but there are some minor differences. The dice in the chests of the pvc guys are clear, but solid on the sofubi. There also doesnt seem to be a seam around the dice, making it appear not removable. Also, at least on the lion, it seems like his fists are larger and more cartoony.
