Well not really... I got the two posters and never had a single chance to get a toy...

Thankfully, I love the posters, so I am not that frustrated, but I still want to shout a big F### each time I see a lottery result...

Not all people got a chance. But I know 2 people that got a chance in 2 different releases threw the first poster.

I guess the lottery stays within those that purchased a poster at least for a couple releases. So it's a lottery for a lottery. Unless you like and want the poster, then its a purchase with an advantage.

Does anyone know of a pre-made frame that will fit the posters? I might just cough up the cash and have it done professionally. I'm thinking it would have to be done without a matt if you didn't want the edges covered.

I have an Ikea frame that fits the first pretty well, i'll slap up a pic. Cuts the edgesd off by half an inch but it doesn't ruin it for me & the price is right.

Please do.

I noticed Michaels is having a %50 off plus another %25 off sale on custom framing until the 10th. If I get a chance I might stop by after work today or tomorrow and see what the prices actually come down to. I'd like to spend as much or preferably less on the frame.

Don't go to Michaels, they will destroy your print.... I believe they do something like gluing the whole thing onto a backing board and other shenanigans. Overall I hear they do a terrible job, and Aaron Brothers too.

Yeah, they probably dry mount them to a stiffer backing. Great to prevent wrinkles and buckling, but no good for the true collector!

I'm not sure of the size of Hirota's posters, but one really good and super cheap option could be an acrylic box frame. Bed, Bath & Beyond (or maybe even Michael's!) usually has a wide selection of these in different sizes. Here's a link to Amazon's listing, which is coincidently shown encasing a little monster. :lol:

u can buy all the supplies at aaron brothers, just dont allow them to assemble for you.

aaron brothers usually has 50% off any item in the store.

right now they have that couponn
http://www.aaronbrothers.com/coupons

i usualyl buy the frame at aaron brothers, and a mat, cut it at home, and put it together myself...

if its an odd shaped frame needed you can do the ebay route which will be cut to the specs you need. I have did that before and that is awesome too... getting the mats on ebay was pretty cheap if you bought at the same time as a frame from the same seller. i think i bought a 30x30 frame, and a double mat for like $30 shipped.

Yeah, since the poster is sized in centimeters instead of inches its a little tricky finding a frame that fits it perfectly.
With the 1st poster I ended up going the Micheal's route and had a matte around the edges.

Couldn't you just measure it? Or use a quick online converter to convert the size to inches?

That's not all that helpful in finding a frame that will fit it perfect. Unless you go custom I think you'll have to crop it. The poster is in millimeters and measures out something like...

728mm = 28.6614

515mm = 20.2756

I like this toy.
But this whole poster thing is nonsense.
Why couldn't it be a JUST a poster?
Why have all this weird sizing, lottery conspiracies, and STUFF?
Then again, this is coming from a fan of NagNagNag.
I guess I'm getting a taste of my own medicine. :P

Used these guys before to get custom frames and the price has been ok.

The wide flat metal frames look great. And the matte finish looks better than gloss.

Congrats to those that won the poster - I used these guys recently (specifically the location on 3rd st in LA) and the results were excellent.

And with regards to Michaels - someone had had mentioned they would destroy the print and I would just like to 2nd that - these guys are criminals of the framing world. Avoid at all costs unless you have 0 connection to the item being framed.

I heard you are going to have to send in a photo of yourself with the poster and a newspaper with today's date before you can buy the gorilla.

^ An actual newspaper might be harder to find than winning the Gorilla.

IKEA frame if you're not a frame snob and want something easy and cheap. Cuts off around 1/2 inch on the sides. Doesn't bug me. My pic is crooked, sorry.
