Leah is saying something like "Goddamnit!" I think it's a little closer to "fuck your mother", I know there are some Spanish speakers here, speak up and teach please! Dirty words are always fun to learn. yeah, I speak spanish. While the words themselves translate to "Fucking Mother", the connotation is that of someone that says "damnit" "fucken-a" or something of the sort when we get screwed over. Thank you. I was wondering If that was the case, I've wanted to learn Spanish but I'm still trying to learn Japanese and that's hard enough!

Went and saw Filmusik's performance of Turkish Star Wars last night. It was pretty incredible. http://filmusik.com/

Sounds like a blast! Have you seen the Turkish Exorcist? It's wonderfully awful.

Turkish Rambo (Rampage) is another one not to be missed - or is, depending on your point of view. A google search of the images alone tells you just how awesome these movies are.

Despite what Mr. Lucas has done to the series, he is giving away the $4 billion to an educational foundation. I absolve him of letting Greedo shoot first & the creation of Jar Jar.

 Re: Sick of Star Wars
But back to the sidetrack of bad Turkish movies, if you have Netflix rent this: http://dvd.netflix.com/Movie/Turkish-Pop-Cinema-Double-Bill-The-Deathless-Devil-Tarkan-vs.-the-Vikings/70040409Tarkan is pretty awful in a good way. The other is not worth watching, but the disc has a documentary about 70's Turkish pop cinema that's pretty good. Scenes from lotsa of bad films, including Turkish Star Trek.

They should just pass it over to Pixar, make the next 3 CGI so we can still have the voices of the original cast, and make something worthwhile. I mean, because it's an awesome idea it won't happen, but it's something that'd be cool.

I've been a fan of all the PIxar movies.

Presumably, Hammill, Ford and Fisher could resume their original roles, as older versions, maybe in cameos? Just a thought. Probably not a very good one.

They might have to set episode 7 far after the events of Return of the Jedi. There is already an established expanded universe after RotJ where: Leia has children with Han. Luke starts up a Jedi Academy. Boba Fett is still alive after escaping the sarlacc pit. Etc. Then again they can recast the parts of Leia, Luke, Han, etc. just so they can follow the expanded universe story lines. Or they could just completely ignore the expanded universe material.

 Re: Sick of Star Wars
I know all about the EU and what happens after Jedi. The logic, in my mind, behind making it CGI is that the original cast are older (duh) and I'd rather see a direct sequel vs. 30-40 years later.
If it's Pixar, I trust it no matter what (unless it's Cars, fool me once...)
My issue with a new movie is that it'll probably be about the Solo twins, etc. and the oldies will be there as a novelty almost.
I also think doing a trilogy that fits into this world in a different media (animation) would just be cool to see. I mean, at this point the only non-CGI characters are the actors in those movies. Just go all the way, why not?
Whatever. I do agree, if it's NOT Lucas it's bound to be more interesting.

 Re: Sick of Star Wars
what about john carter of mars or whatever it was called? wasnt that a lucasfilm/disney crossbreed thing? i didnt see it, but maybe assuming the next star wars will be in that vein doesnt sound too farfetched.

 Re: Sick of Star Wars
Saw this earlier today and thought it was funny. I'm sure it's not going to happen. It seems like they know who the real target audience is for this stuff, much like the Avengers; and they could still make their money on merchandising. Speaking of merchandising, I also read that Disney is in talks to buy Hasbro (Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers toys as well as all the board games from your youth). So get ready for a plethora of Star Wars crossovers, especially on the comic book front.

 Re: Sick of Star Wars
I wish I could remember where I read this a few days ago (but can't because I followed a Twitter link while on the bus and failed to bookmark it) but evidently Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher were called in for a little discussion with The Mouse.
That doesn't necessarily mean they're in, of course, but it means that someone, somewhere is thinking something.

We recently watched the Roseanne Barr roast, in which Carrie Fisher participated. She was...uh...interesting. I can't imagine her acting these days.

 Re: Sick of Star Wars
It occurs to me that it is probably ironic that we keep posting SW themed items and news in the Sick of Star Wars thread exactly against its original intent, but oh well Sorry Robert. Blame it on [the] Rebellion. Love this vintage poster art by Mark Daniels. There is also a Rancor-themed one.
