Well T-Dog is definitely dead, but as far as them knowing I think they recognized some of the remains as being him (via clothes, weapon etc). They never make mention of it, it's just sort of implied. As far as Carol, it's just the opposite. We at home think well, they've never shown her so she's probably alive. Given that this show definitely likes to show characters getting killed. But as far as the group knowing- they're assuming dead because they found a scarf, hence the grave. What I think really is happening with Carol:

Is that she went missing to bring in some other character or event. Just like Andrea did. Either she meets up with a character in the prison, Tyrese, or she ran out of the prison and is going to be the catalyst for how the prison group and Woodbury meet/clash.

Interesting theory, though it would be hard to explain her 'escape' from the prison. Not that this show makes any semblance of credible explanations  T-Dog is dead, of course, we see that on screen, but just seemed to me if they did find any evidence they took to be from either one of them, Carol would have been [relatively] nearby.

Really was not a fan at all of the gladiatorial fight scene either. It was just an excuse to throw in some action for the braindead masses. There are a lot better ways to show the downfall of society/loss of humanity, and what was implied was a lot better than when they just came out and did that. If anything, wouldn't they be setting biters against each other somehow, or fight them in an arena? I don't see the point of the needless combat (other than more violence).

the gladiator fight scene brought alot of things into a realm of feasibility for me, when the spoilers started popping up I figured merle would be a wild card while everyone was saying oh he's gonna be the governor's right hand man  I didn't see him as a character that would be the second banana being so ego driven and then bamn merle is the macho man of the zombie apocalpse and everyone loves him so that at least makes sense not to mention I smell a match with a biter in the ring(ie one of the chained ones that should be a gummer) and a merle vs daryl match

well I'm glad someone watches the talking dead, I had no clue the zombie ate her, it was my 1st reaction to the scene but then I'm left thinking were's the leftovers, bones etc. :?

This bothered me a bit also. Main reason being that they showed two walkers eating T-dog's remains and they were nowhere near done compared to a lone walker eating Lori completely? There's not much of a time difference between the group finding T-dog's remains and Rick finding Lori's.

Agreeing here again. I think sooner or later he's going to turn on the governor. He doesnt seem to be the type to take orders from anyone. I especially thought this when they talked about searching for Daryl. That face of discontent when the governor shot his plan down just screamed retaliation.

^^ That definitely seems like a much improved version over what we saw realise on screen (though I assume this holds for nearly, if not all, of the comics). :|

Comic is way better than the show, like most things source material trumps the screen. I watch it because it's still better than most things on, love the source material, and it's fun to watch the deviations from the comic.

Did I ever post this?: It's a pretty fun WD Google Interactive Map:

https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8 ... 43,,,0,-31

contain SPOILERS if you never read the comic.

I read the comics and watch the show. For those that only watch the show...it's really worth read the comics. The slow pacing works in paper print...but seemed to have failed in Season 2.

Regardless..the trade paperbacks are cheap and worth a read.

Last night was good but my one complaint is this:

So last week Glenn says he wished they shot the prisoners on sight, because one of them caused the death of 3 of their people. This week he sees Merle, knowing he's rotten and has even more to lose now that he's with Maggie, but doesn't pull the trigger and blow him away on sight? WTF?

Also, Merle asks him point blank if Daryl is alive? Once he says yes why would he not make Glenn drive him to Daryl first? Ok Daryl is alive lets go back to Woodbury? Double WTF?

Yeah I get what you're saying, but if Daryl found out Glenn killed his brother after the ATL scenario, shit would turn sour very quickly. I agree with the whole Merle going back to Woodbury thing, he should have just let Glenn take him to his brother. Merle is a piece of shit though and hates the group so he probably wants the governors help to wipe them out since in his mind they fucked him over and left him for dead. I'm curious how the whole Merle/Daryl thing will pan out and with their loyalties to their groups and each other clashing.

Actually you're right I didn't think of that (Daryl hating Glenn for killing his brother). Yeah I thought I'd like Merle's return this season but he is annoying as shit. Rooker is overplaying him in most scenes I think.

From what I'm reading:

We're going to see a fan favorite from the comic in the mid season finale.

Also is it just me or do the people of Woodbury seem not that intimidating? That stupid teenage girl with the bow had me laughing, and Merle's henchmen, well my Mom could kick their collective asses all at once. Besides Merle, Martinez (his WWW partner), and the silent black guy with the bow, who is really intimidating in Woodbury?! Governor? Not really. Rick's team could take those people out no problem.

In the comic though...they didn't really have anyone like that either. They had the Governor who is obviously a sadistic fuck but the rest of the group were just people with guns.

Sidenote...I really like how Daryl Dixon's character is getting fleshed out. He seemed 1 dimensional at first but I like how he's sort of an anti hero. I hope he kills his brother.

All of this.

He's the best part of the show these days, although I am looking forward to seeing how Michonne does with the group.

That was a pretty great last image this episode - Michonne surrounded by disinterested walkers and toting that basket of formula!

Holy hell! Glenn just leveled up to SUPER BAD-ASS status! Wow! This show is improving by leaps and bounds IMO.

Yeah I thought Glenn was turning into a big pussy but that
head butt to Merle's nose
was classic! Can't believe next week is the mid season finale already?! What the hell? Seems the season just started. They need to make these episodes longer, 43 minutes is not enough. 1st season they clocked usually at 46-47 minutes and routinely had longer premieres. Guess advertising revenue takes priority.

They're dragging the two groups meeting so long. I feel like nothing new happened in this episode after the first few minutes.

My thoughts exactly. Last thing I want to do at this point is wait months to know what happens. Surely they'll leave it at some torturous cliffhanger. Show the full season, damn you AMC.
Longer episodes would be nice too.

Post Re: The Walking Dead television series!!!!
I also think AMC chumped out on what the Governor did in the comic:
Not that I condone rape or anything, nor did I actually need to see it at all. Implied by him walking in a door, shutting it behind him followed by screams would have been sufficient, and completely elevated him to the rotten insane villain he is in the comic. It would make a good storyline for Glenn, and revenge would be sweeter. AMC don't PG13 this shit...

It's all sponsors though...they get a say apparently.

After they mid season break I think the shits gonna hit the fan. I was on set a few weeks ago (got to be a zombie) and what I've gathered it's gonna be epic. Don't want to give anything away but I'm excited.
