First edition Marusan Gango. They usually go for a pretty penny, it all matter how nice the blue paint is for how high the price goes.

My contribution for the day, this awesome, albeit pricey, Marusan Gyango with heavy metallic blue sprays. 100K 円 on the button. :)

The two Mazinger villains usually sell for 20,000¥ a piece, and the lavender vinyl kaiju from Lion Maru is usually around 5000¥+, so the group price seems reasonable for the figures.

The Kamen rider auction went nuts because of that dark green variant on the dinosaur kaiju at the bottom, and then helped by the green/grey variant on the cone head. First I have seen of the dark green dino in forever. Even the light blue dino regularly sells for 30-40,000¥.

Here's another I was watching. Went for 41200 yen. Some of these seem pretty common though. Guess given the amount of mini's it's a fair price. Maybe it was condition and the rare Popy Dabulas? Is that pretty rare (yes I'd love to own one)?:

This seemed excessive for nine Kamen Rider mini's though:

Do you guys think that there's any "rigging" or blocking going on with YJA? Just curious based on a recent experience...

it depends, I can't say specifically, but people behave pretty similarly everywhere around the world, so it would not surprise me.

There was an agent years ago who was caught up in a series of bidding irregularities though. No one I know uses them now, so I can't say....

I'm hoping that it wasn't my bunch; they seem genuinely nice, BUT this is like the 5th time I've been euchred and there's always a reason... I wouldn't have minded but there were 6 of those little vintage vinyl robots in the batch... I got in a bid for 5k yen more before the 5 minute thing and my bid . just . froze. Seller lost 5k yen profit, I lost a still pretty good auction. Once or twice, yeah. More that that, I think that I need to hook up with a different service.

Nice to see Glow Zazahn go down slightly:

http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/a ... m104809297

Bullmark needs to do a GID reissue of this. Hell, change the highlight colors if need be, so you don't offend the original owners. I mean it's beyond most collector's pockets.

I am fully down for a reissue too, just change some of the colours (maybe a blue?) and it should be golden. Here is another auction I was watching. Love the vintage Barom-1 guys, but again, something which I sure can't afford easily, and the mid size guys don't seem to be reissued.

UPDATE: Gosh darn it all. Another one just a day later sold for even less! What a time to be short on funds.

Here is another strange one that I was watching. I know the Chojin Bibyun guys are a bit harder to find, but for a small Popy-scale figure I was surpised to see it fetch 150k. I really like this dude, and was all interested in bidding, but got blown away in the end.

Now see this is where I'm severely lacking as far as vintage- gauging prices. I didn't bother bidding on any of these Giant Kamen Rider Villains because I assumed wrongly that they would be way out of my league. BUT all 3 were not listed under 'Kamen Rider' and went relatively low I think:

Chameleon:
http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f114934508
Cobraman:
http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d135424383
name escapes me:
http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w79034447

Doh! I mean over 300 is still a chunk of change, but I've seen much higher listings.

fuck. i would have bought that chameleon or fought for it if i knew about it. the giant flower monster just sold here for 450 so these prices seem great.

oh well! live and learn, right?

also note that a lot of the vintage i see, or look at for that matter, i look under phantom rider

Here is another one from that same seller I was hoping to win. Not expensive, but my bidding power is just so low these days. Really sweet ape villain from Gambaron by Bullmark:

Image

I think it is somewhat rare to see. It seems the whole series of these are pretty sweet, you can see more on this sitehttp://www.amazing-toy.com/no.49.htm, but check out this trio for example:

Damn, that is a beauty. Great shape too. I can't even imagine trying to justify that one to a significant other  (that's not to say I wouldn't do it if I could!)

Some really cool Mazinger Z minis came up you don't see too often. I really love them both, but especially the scissor-headed dude. Some of the Nagai villains are just so crazy.

Sorry, should have made that clear. I didn't win either (don't even have the cash to bid in fact, unfortunately :( ). I just appreciate seeing great guys like these and wanted to share for the vintage folks still lurking about here.

No matter, I hoped that for you. Thank you for sharing, every day I learn something new here on SB. A lot of times I see great toys passing on YJ without bidding on them, but I'm very happy when some friend of SB wins them

That is definitely a cool one. I love his robot-like construction. From his description (junk toy he had as a kid) I bet the seller was pretty surprised to see it go that high. It is definitely a killer bootleg, I wonder if he ever had eye stickers or something though that may have come off.

^^^ That's such a bizarre looking Devilman. I think you're right ultra, looks like he might have had sticker eyes at one point. Someone got a DEAL on the "other bootleg" Devilman recently:

http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w80600900

Can't believe it went that low!

That is only the second blow-mold devilman I have seen, and in pretty good shape. The Barom-1 in the same series had eye stickers so I assume this did as well.
I bought this Devilman bootleg years ago that was missing just about all the stickers, and I have never seen another one until this one. I could see the next one going even higher.
