 Saddest news story I've heard.
27 people were killed today by at least 2 gunmen, 17 of those killed were kindergarteners... Sometimes, it's hard being an atheist, because I so desperately want to pray for those parents dealing with loss, but all I can do is say "I'm sorry, that your part of this tragedy, and I'll be lighting a candle, in remembrance tonight."
A child taken at the beginning of life is the most heinous of all acts, I'm not a supporter of the death penalty, but just this once, I'm hoping that one of the killers that the police shot and killed, suffered on his way out.

I'm also not one to read foxnews but it's got a comprehensive article on the events currently happening, now their reporting 18 children killed. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/12/14/po ... ry-school/

Just saw this, as a parent with two kids in this age group it definitely bums me the fuck out.

So sad, and right before Christmas too. Why don't these people do us a favor and kill themselves before they commit the crime, not after

Re: Saddest news story I've heard.
First, let me just say that under no circumstances am I trying to call Slipstar out for posting this thread.
However, I don't know how to put this, but I think posts like this need not be posted on this message board. I find them obvious, gratuitous and borderline one-up-men.
I say this because heinous crimes/incidents/catastrophes of this caliber are undoubtedly going to cross our proverbial plate(s) some time sooner or later the day it happens. It's also going to instigate the same inane banter and fodder that all of us already feel and are aware of. It only clutters up this message board, one I look to as both an escape and educate myself of things that generally interest me. I don't need to be reminded of all the human filth I share air with. I don't need to be reminded of my moral compass with (mostly) relative strangers. This post doesn't really relate to anything on these boards other than technically it fits the definition of "Whatever" here.
I'd prefer these boards to be lighter hearted. Not, "Hey guys did you see this..." because, to me it feels forced and it feels like one of those "I posted this here first" type threads.
Again, I'm not saying that's what it is and why would you admit to that anyway, but it's sort of an insult to injury for me. I'd like to think that most, if not all of us on these boards are...
Maybe I'm wrong and people think I want to bury my head in the sand (I don't btw) and this, as well as other subjects like this are useful and belong here.

Re: Saddest news story I've heard.
666doll I agree with you 100%.
By the way are you guys seeing that the Ryan Lanza the media keeps plastering up as the killer is the wrong guy? The killer was confirmed dead from suicide, but the guy people are blaming is alive and well but just has the same name. Journalism at its finest.
Terrible tragedy regardless.

I concur . . . it would be pretty fucked-up for anyone to be anything but sickened so posting that sentiment is pointless! In the same way that I'd look 'elsewhere' for information on western toys I'd also look at news based websites if I wanted to read about real life stuff. I visit Skullbrain (often against better judgement) to read about Japanese toys and yank chains . . . not the world going to shit!

I went into a CNN.com forum and couldn't find a damn thing about Japanese vinyl? What am I missing?
