Was he a mascot for a product or company? Yup...Mascot for a Japanese pharmaceutical company. I think Ed knows the company name. These pop up from time to time on yja albeit not complete. I think I just did a search for "japanese mascots" Anyway I'm so glad he went to a good home and fantastic job on the restoration. So cool.
