I'm going to go out on a limb and just assume factory. If I"m wrong so be it but to me it doesn't matter... I love this version. This version is going to symmetrically work well with the boss carrion

Slight variation??

The eyeballs are different as are some of the sprays around the head. Could be intentional though as I know there are some intentional different sprays with the bats.

I have one from that run and my eyeball is actually like the one in the first pic, not the pink eye in the 2nd pic.

those are really neat.

Yellow vinyl is one of my favorite bases, the black eye on that one really goes well with the black eyeliner.

This might just be a rumor, but I heard that only part of this release was made in time for dcon and part was then released later(2-3 weeks ago). This gap in releases might be the small variations in paint/eye. Just speculation, might be completely random. I'll have to look at the eye on mine when I get home, maybe people can compare eyes from time of purchase.

My black eye was from the batch that were sold a few weeks ago.

The pic Kroker posted looks like the one that was available from the Tag website ...has clear staff instead of gold one that's on the poster.

So one was a store release and the other from Dcon?

Different editions then, it just so happens they are on the same base. neat!

Oh yeah whoops, didn't even notice the gold staff in the TAG promo. I like my clear one.

Even though they are factory painted, they are still hand painted with an air brush. You can get differences on every single figure, some might just have different paints applied more heavily in certain areas.

Both Dcon and Store releases have black eyeball and clear staff, I don’t see any major paint variation.
We all know that actual color varies at all times, depending on the camera and lighting quality.

I wonder if that one in the TAG photo with the gold staff was the paint master.

You are correct. That's the one that went to Japan as sample.I recognize the brass staff.

They guy there makes all the right paint adjustments via email with me.

I think everyone here who doesn't would be surprised who paints the "factory" ones! (Not Goto!)

This is from the DCon/TAG run I believe. The factory paints have a black pupil and Paul's have a pink Pupil. DCon and later TAG release were the same edition just spaced out from factory delays.
Like Paul said the DCon photo was of the paint sample with Paul's brass staff instead of the factory acrylic.

Black unpainted, love the pink eye.
