 Re: Gargamel 2013 Lucky Bags
the big bags in the past were certainly super difficult to score! although the LBs in general got progressively easier to score after they went the online route. i wonder if there is new sculpt surprises this year?

I thought it was cool they offered options on sizes. It was a fun concept. I also liked it better when it was all actual Gargamel toys, not half non-Gargamel toys produced by them. But that's just me. I know others like the "artist" series stuff.

Yeah...I agree on the 'artist' toys. I have liked all of the lucky bags that were strictly gargamel toys. I like looking at the collaborations but really have no interest in purchasing or collecting them..the only exception being the odoron or biskup.

I've never quite understood the difference, to tell the truth. I mean, the "regular" Gargamel toys do seem to be produced by artists as well... Don't KaToPe and Chanmen have their own toys? While Zags and Hedorans are not identified as "created by", it's not like Gargamel have a staff of 50 people...

 Re: Gargamel 2013 Lucky Bags
There is a difference. The Zags and Hedorans don't scream "PARTICULAR ARTIST AND THEIR STYLE WITH THEIR NAME ALL UP ON IT"
That's what I liked. The basic toy-ish-ness of them. The Kaiju and Fight figure lines (standard, minis, fights etc.)
Not knocking those artists. I just don't care for all that.
When that whole artist series started even the scale was defined. We get so few regular Gargamel figures I think the LB is a perfect time to swamp them out. instead they get packed with figures that DO have multiple regular releases during the year via their particular artist.
This is why an OPTION would rule. We all have different tastes. All, just standard, just minis, a random mix, artist stuff, FIGHT FIGURES.

 Re: Gargamel 2013 Lucky Bags
I'm just happy to see some new Gargamel, haven't had a fix since this time last year so cant wait to see some new Zokki Kaiju. If we are talking dream releases a run of camo pockets would be the ultimate for me right now, camo pocket smogun's would look amazing with the gold eye inserts.

^ Camo pocket Smogun is something I never thought of before but now REALLY want. It is 1 of my 2 favorite pocket sculpts, such a cute little guy.

Maybe Bwana and gang can do one for next year.

I like looking at the collaborations but really have no interest in purchasing or collecting them..the only exception being the odoron or biskup. Imo, the pachi kaiju that Gargamel makes, was and is a perfect combo of vintage toys with a cleaned up flair but still very Japanese or eastern. Their artist sculpts are beautifully designed and made, but some of those specific collabs just seemed more "western" for my tastes. Not knocking any of the collabs in any way, it would just be more interesting to me to see what original figures Gargamel would come up with if their focus was more on their own designs. I think it's a smart move for the collabs to help give them more exposure and a bigger fan base but would enjoy seeing some new designs, iterations of existing or fresh takes on old school characters from them. It's fun for me to see the mix of things that someone like Siccaluna Shikaruna does with their own and licenses. Not that quantity is a gage for quality but some folks are really cranking and evolving. I see the stuff that RxH, Zollmen is doing and it's pretty mind blowing. At the same time, I'm not sure many can hold a candle to Gargamel's paint on figures so maybe that's the compromise. Just thoughts from a fan. "Zag"....'nuff said.

 Re: Gargamel 2013 Lucky Bags
It always boggles my mind I can't seem to find any info on bags that have to have been opened by Japanese customers. Not on Google, not on Mixi, not on Flickr... Where are all the Japanese collectors? Where?
