Tokyo's subway system IS complex and overpriced, but it's more extensive than Seoul's network, and the trains are more frequent.

They are a little lengthy, especially in the arms. If proportions were a little different I'd like them even more, but it's not a deal breaker. I feel like a lot of people don't like the dark earthy paint apps, but I think they compliment the sculpts pretty well. But, I always assumed KAZU AKAMATSU sculpted these, and his sculpting is amazing, especially the way he etches in the faint horizontal lines across the SHB lines and the new work he's been doing for Marmit, like the kappa. I think SHB might also suffer from too many releases, too soon, with many of them being very similar in color.

 Re: SUPERFESTIVAL 61 Discussion
The two things that you ask in a subway are that they are on-time and that they go almost everywhere you want to go. Tokyo's rules in those respects but definitely not foreigner friendly. I've been to Tokyo five times and still don't have a decent grasp on the system. But of course, 99% of the riders are probably local so us foreigners just need to deal with it.

Where i'm from, you are lucky to have a post saying 'bus' on it - no schedule, no stop number, nothing. The only subway we know is the sandwich On a side note though, I can totally see how Tokyo an be overwhelming and confusing in the chaos. This visit is the first time I have experienced rush hour and packet trains - it is mental. I don't know how but I missed all the chaos on my first visit but it was all very chilled and there was no panic.

Just catching up on all these great releases. Another amazing SuperFest! Really impressed by your haul Shane. And of course Andy, your coverage is amazing as always. Lots of sweet figures, but those Buta micros are especially a must have for me, love the mixed heads.

 Re: SUPERFESTIVAL 61 Discussion
I don't know where Seoul's system ranks in the list of number of users and lines, but Tokyo is number one. If to that you add what everyone has been saying I even think it's a different league.
Moskow and Mexico City are number two and three in number of users per day. I don't think they compare either. Although each has it's own character and history.

Ride on the local lines and then tell me that Tokyo's transport system is easy to use.

Taiwan's system is nice. You use little blue tokens and pay based on how far you travel. They also have lines for entering the subway cars. And super clean and efficient, of course

 Re: SUPERFESTIVAL 61 Discussion
I agree, and the trains are wonderful! But recently they've changed how some of the lines snake around to reduce congestion at Taipei Main Station, so that can be confusing. And they need more East-West lines!

akum6n wrote: Ride on the local lines and then tell me that Tokyo's transport system is easy to use. actually i think they are really easy! i rated the tokyo system best because of its coverage, frequency, reliability, efficiency, punctuality, generally clean, behaviour of users etc. only complaint is cost, it is certainly not cheap but this is a high cost, developed country. and prices have been like these whether oil is $30 or $130 a barrel.

akum6n wrote: Ride on the local lines and then tell me that Tokyo's transport system is easy to use. Thank you! and yeah, the number of users differ greatly I understand that, that is a good point. I understand how the metro is expensive, like everything in Japan, its just that what you pay for what you get is a little less than what I expected. It doesn't matter, I've been on the Mexico City metro and that thing is just bad, so bring on the costs Tokyo, its all good. I think these conversations are the best way to kill off the hype, who wants to read 2 pages of commentary and discussion on train lines, right? hahaha.
