Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju, Mecha Gorilla-ju, & Tyrann
Hirota's father made the original and he has redone it with a few changes. I didnt ask if he had an old mold, but JoeMan is right, you can copy an old piece and make a new mold. It's been done many times and it's kind of how they make the paint masks too.

Thats pretty amazing, the more I learn about this toy the more I like it, I think I like the background to it more than the toy itself though, I love that the omakes or at least the alien omake is a bootleg of that stretch toy and that his father made the original, so cool.

Woah.. that's pretty amazing if Hirota has a direct connection to the original Gorilla through his father, I love how personal that makes these toys. Cant wait to see what HS has planned for this year.

Another of his toys Im probably going to cry over not having, ha!
The idea of his family working the sculpt is a really nice one. It transforms the toy into something more than that, the history really makes it even more interesting as a piece.
I wonder what other cases are out there where this is true? a family working a character(s).

Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju, Mecha Gorilla-ju, & Tyrann
I kind of feel like a jerk for bumping this thread when there isn't any news to report, but I have a quick question for the folks that won the most recent poster released last year.
Has anyone had any success finding a frame for the poster that fits without leaving a border along any of the edges? Ikea has a frame (Ribba) that has outer dimensions that match the paper size, but the thickness of the frame makes it a hair too small to fit the poster.
I'd rather not have to buy a custom frame for this poster, but it's looking like that might be the easiest way unless anyone has another suggestion. I hate to just leave the poster rolled up in the shipping tube, it deserves to be on display!

I don't know what size the poster is but I buy a lot of frames from here; http://www.frameusa.com/Specifically I've gotten these which are really affordable and come in various sizes; http://www.frameusa.com/wood-frames/col ... ure-framesAnything over 8x10 comes with clear sintra instead of glass making them light and inexpensive to ship. All made in U.S. Worth a shot.

Re: Hirota Saigansho: Gorilla-ju, Mecha Gorilla-ju, & Tyrann
cutting the ppl who bought the first poster and now only selling to the ppl who bought the 2nd poster is not the right way in my opinion. I think the ones who bought the first poster didnt know in advance that they where able from then to buy toys or have "privileges" vs non poster buyers, but the guys who bought the 2nd poster kinda knew what it could mean if they bought it...... i liked the first one and bought it without knowing what that could mean.... i didnt like the 2nd poster so i didnt buy it.......

Secret lottery sales? Bummer. All these behind-the-bad signs are leaving those of us who have never won a lottery in the dust.

Does anyone want this new pink mecha gorilla ju?? I have a chance to buy it I guess from the email I got but I dont really want a mecha gorilla Ju, I want a normal gorilla ju. If you want this and would trade me a normal painted gorilla Ju in any color let me know asap.

I am afraid you opened yourself up to a barrage of inevitable PMs. Let the onslaught of bargaining begin!
