What do you use to light your collection??
this thought was inspired by kidclam in another thread, how do you light your collection? do you light them?
What are your thoughts on this........
does it damage the vinyl (god forbid!)

My biggest display unit (all wood) has no lighting. My wood/glass display cabinet has a couple lights, but I almost never turn them on more than like a minute because they get really hot.
So my lighting is mediocre at best, but I don't care that much. I can still enjoy the figures.

if you can conceal tube lighting it's extremely low heat and gives a nice hue to your toys but isnt super bright.

I use glow sticks...
(Seriously though, that'd look kinda cool...maybe some dry ice to diffuse the light...)

In my photos I had the lights on but I never have them on ,at any time, unless Im showing off to some one,or for pics. The heat might/might not be bad but I dont want to take the chance.

I have used those Ikea lights that go in the top of Detolfs for a while, I don't think they would fuck the toys up they don't put off much heat.

I heard that using tungsten tube (?) forgot the English word... with no UV is the best since it is not hot and you can leave them on 24/7.
However I don't know the skills to put it in the right place. Top? Bottom? Behind? front?
I don't have time to drill holes and fit these lights inside the toy cabinet. Having spot lights from the ceiling kills the coolness of the toys too. What to do.....?

For some figures, I use lighter fluid.

The only light that is really detrimental is sunlight.
Or artificial UV light.

My cat would jump in a cubby hole, knock all the toys out, and then curl up... He's a naughty little skamp.

The lower-left cubby has since been cleared for that purpose.

i have a ton of lamps and no "real" lighting.
i'm still extremely careful about the heat output from my lamps and radiator (old school! lol)
Heat may be okay to help re-shape teetering toys, but i'd hate to see how it might affect soft vinyl over time.
and i make sure none of my toys are exposed to direct sunlight.

I have a GID Mutant Chaos on every shelf providing radioactive lighting after dark.
I wonder if that explains why my hair is dropping out in clumps?
