"Monsters from the Island" is a group neo-kaiju and sofubi exhibition curated by Monster Island NYC. The opening will take place on March 9th, 2013 with a reception from 6-9PM at The Clutter Gallery, 163 Main Street, Beacon, NY 12508. The pieces will remain on display in the gallery space until April 6th, 2013.

Comprised of artists working primarily in sofubi and resin, the participating artists include: BLObPUS, Blurble, Bob Conge / Plaseebo, Brian Flynn, Buff Monster, Bwana Spoons,Dski One, Few Many, FigLab, Goccodo, Guumon, Healeymade, Ilanena, Josh Herbolsheimer, Konatsu, L'amour Supreme, Leecifer, Mark Nagata, Mechavirus,Monsterarm, Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, NagNagNag, PaulKaiju, Rampage Toys, Splurrt, Star Case, Toys are Sanity, Uamou and Velocitron.

Several of the artists will be in attendance including a special U.S. appearance by SHIGERU (NagNagNag!)

Wow, really happy to see Star Case is getting some international exposure. I hope this means more availability of their figures.

This looks like a great line up of artists.

Nag stuff won't be available online + some other artists will be withholding their stuff for live attendees

Yeah for the Nag stuff Clutter said "By request of Shigeru, the majority (or possibly the entirety) of the custom one-off Nags made for the "Monsters of the Island" group exhibition will only be available through an in-person lottery during the opening reception on March 9th, 2013 from 6PM to 9PM. These full-size Nag figures include one Siamese Nag, six 4-Eyed Nags and three Crazy Eyes 4-Eyed Nags. The top row of Nags pictured below is a similar paint application to some of those made for this show, though using different colors.
Information regarding any of the Nags being made available online will be forthcoming but is not assured.
In addition, several of the other artists have requested that their pieces not be available online prior to the opening reception, so this will be a more limited gallery preview than usual.
We apologize for the late delivery of this information and any inconvenience it may cause."


On a side note, Beacon is about 70 miles north of NYC so I don't know why they're promoting this as a NYC show. Like jebcrow posted earlier..."you know beacon=nyc....bristol=london...fresno=LA"

I should have said this before, the poster for this show is amazing. Love the geometric design and epic movie poster quality it has.

I would never expect the nags to make it past the show anyways. but I dont see why things from the show would get sold before the opening. that would blow for the people attending.

Yes, but it's a Clutter show and that's how they do it. Was crazy excited, now just somewhat interested. Doesn't matter though, it's much better for attendees.
