Re: Kaiju Combat Video Game? Yes, Simon Strange is the real deal. He (or members of his team) was involved with Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters Melee, Godzilla: Save the Earth and Godzilla:Unleashed. The last two had major issues. Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters Melee was actually pretty good and I recommend it. IIRC, even James Rolfe spoke highly of it.
From what I understand they're in a bit of a tight spot. They can't release any footage of the licensed monsters they're working on until they get the cash for the licenses. Without some footage of what they're working on, not many people are willing to commit to this. Bummer. I'll try and keep this thread in mind when the kickstarter relaunches in October...

Re: Kaiju Combat Video Game? While he is credited for the games he's mentioned, his track record is not that great. Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones is the only game that got a decent rating (not sure which Tony Hawk he worked on). Everything else is sub-par to pretty bad according to metacritic. Those Godzilla games have been rating lower and lower with each incarnation and if it's the same team... Here's a link to their forum if anyone is interested. Apparently Wizards of the Coast is arguing that the name of the game infringes on their trademark of "Kaijudo" which is a card game and TV show they own. I think it's a bullshit claim and has soured whatever perception I had of Wizards.
