A good friend of mine came up with a pretty fine idea for a board game that I helped him work the kinks out of and, ultimately, play test.

Now he's made the huge jump to put it on Kickstarter to see if he can get it produced.

You can read the basic details over on the Kickstarter site, but it's a different experience every time you play and actually incredibly entertaining. He's working on developing some expansions for it right now and told him he would be quite remiss if he didn't, at the very least, consider a potential kaiju element. We shall see.

Not to be rude, but this basically looks just like a settlers of catan x carcassonne?

not rude at all. It does have a similar feel, but this game is more about hunting down and matching treasure. There are a couple of expansions for carcassonne that I've played that have "monsters" that can impede play, but not quite like this. I just thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone might be remotely interested. The basic rules and quickstart are on the Kickstarter site if you might be interested in perusing them.

I gave it a quick look, I'll have to again later. The "look" though just threw me a bit as being exactly like settlers, and the wood pieces/slowly building board of carcassonne. I play way too many board games. lol
