Yep, I think anyone with sense was happy to see both Kostitsyn brothers shipped to other pastures. They were a major part of the lacklustre drive that has plagued the team for several years now, and is finally being rectified. That play is just pathetic, and that kind of performance should be grounds for dismissal given the amount these players earn. Oh well, happy to see the Oilers benefit, they need it.

I don't watch Oilers games that often so I can't say what their issue is. You would think a team laden with that many #1 draft picks would have a better record. They need a goaltender badly though. I'm really enjoying the downfall of the Rangers this season. Cocky bastards. Even though I'm a Bruins fan I like that the Canadians, Leafs, and Senators are all competitive this year. Can't wait for the Bruins/Habs rematch. Despite what the Pens are doing I strongly believe that the Eastern Conference winner is coming from the Northeast division this year.

I'm not a Sabres fan but living in Buffalo it's all I hear about. Probably one of the worst teams in the league and I found this so funny I cried I was laughing so hard!:

Oh man, that WAS hilarious. Honestly, it does suck that Buffalo has such a bad team (even though they seem to have our number all the time). This is another reason I think the expansion hurts good markets, because you could easily have a strong team there, without having to spread players all over the place to the point so many teams are mediocre.

The Buffalo Sabres are a joke. They could honestly get Sidney Crosby and he would go into a forever slump as soon as he arrived in Buffalo. What's sad is for years they had to make due because the former owner refused to spend any money on quality players. They finally get some new billionaire owner who is a super fan of the team and he overspends on the wrong players. Leino? Regehr? Stafford? Myers? Ehrfhoff? They need a sell off, show the GM Reiger the door, and just start with a clean slate. It might be 4-5 years before they're competitive again but start now! This is coming from someone who could care less (not my team) but everyone who loves hockey knows this.

Sharks actually use to have that fin as shoulder patches on their jerseys. I have a cap that has it and people ask me what it is...even Sharks fans have asked. That just tells you what kind of fans we got here. It looks like some of these were taken from the shoulder patch.

Sounds great to me. I am not delusional by any means when it comes to the Habs, just hoping for a decent game with no BS on either side. We fared well against the Pens yesterday, and even though it was a loss, a one goal game is a decent result I would say. Hope you have some great imports at the ready Lixx! :)

I don't care about results, I just want Therrien punching Julien in the face.

Oh man what I would not give to have McGuire take a snapshot to the head and silence him for the game/season. Bruins look sluggish. I'm against acquiring Iginla because I think the B's will give up too much but maybe someone needs to be traded!

Iginla is a tough one at this point. As a rental sure, but I am sure that is not what he is willing to do, and I am not in favour of anyone giving up what would probably be necessary in return. He was such a excellent player, and it is very possible in a new market he could get back to that, especially with the pressure taken off him to lead a whole squad. Or he could just be more of the same. It is a risky gambit, and one I don't think I would want my team making - and I really have a lot of respect for Iggy. I hope to see him return to his peak with a change of scenery, if it comes.

And of course, I would much rather see him on our team, than the Bruins, but that is a pipe dream.

Why pull Price? Budaj is not nearly up to snuff, and you cannot fault Price for those goals. Great now a BS penalty. :|

I was just going to say Budaj looks good to me, but Seguin does not miss on breakaways or shoot outs.

Post Re: The good ol' hockey game
Thanks refs for handing Montreal a power play goal in the last 8 seconds on a bunk call. oh and rumor has it, Boston is making some kind of announcement tonight I hear.....hmmmm Iginla?

EDIT:

It's going to be Alex Khokhlachev, Matt Bartkowski, and a first rounder for Iginla supposedly. He's sitting out tonight and so are the Bruins mentioned.

I don't know about bunk call, but of course it was unintentional. But c'mon you did have a power play in OT, that pretty much balanced it out. A well fought game on either side, I don't think you could ask for more. And full credit tot the Bruins, after a wooden first, they really came out in the second period, wanting it more, and making us play their game (i.e. physical). Add to that some really bonehead plays, and you could see it was a good fight back. This was a nail-biter either way, with lots of yelling from both of our sides I am sure. Budaj looked good in the shootout, no question there. Surprised it took so many from either side to get a goal.

Man you guys just need to do what I do watch it online here:

http://www.vipbox.tv/

Click on hockey and it will list all the games. Everyone is saying that Iginla trade is happening online. At least Boston did not give up Nathan Horton or Malcolm Subban,

Fucckkkkkk! I go to bed thinking well maybe the Iginla trade will help, Bruins aren't giving up that much. Wake up and the team I hate the most got him, the fucking Penguins! How are they not possibly over the cap yet? I can't wait for Pittsburgh to lose in the playoffs.
