Good question. This is NOT an official Deadbeet release. From my understanding, this guy purchased the beets on his own and ran with it. I have nothing to do with. I heard about it when everyone else did. With that said, I'm not going to shit on the guy like some here feel the need to do. It's obvious the guy had fun with the project. Good for him.

I'm not sure why anyone would be bashing Scott because another artist unaffiliated with him bought Baby Deadbeets and made a run of custom figures. That happens all the time with sofubi that none of us would consider a true platform toy, and more often than not those releases are not "sanctioned" by the creator of the figure.

How can you criticise someone for having their figure customized by someone else? Now it just feels like people are bashing the figure because its popular with noobs and non-SBers.

I understand it has the platform toy feel, but oh well they are Deadbeets. Most of the boardies that don't like them, don't like the beets anyways. Some of the reasons are legit, some are opinion, and some are just crap. Its understandable, its a discussion board. But the beets aren't usually discussed, just shit on.

To an extent the toy kinda gets a pass . . . It's more the Kozik school of sales and marketing technique and the fuckwits that the toy seems to appeal to being drawn over to Skullbrain.

Yeah ill give you that, Tolleson basically came on these boards just to sell and thats all he really seems to do on here. And im not siding with the veterans or newcomers, but new vinyl and kaiju has to be made eventually. But im thinking more of Guumon's Daigomi and MVH's pieces. Deadbeet is way different from other vinyl. Some of the established artists/companies maybe putting out pieces closer to kaiju, but damn some of them really are shit. I'd rather stare at a Deadbeet than at some of those.
