Anyone knows what they're supposed to be "holding"?

A friend just told me they looked like luchadores. I guess they do eh? :)

It is probably evident in the art if any of the lucky people with the accompanying books want comment. In my imagination I just assumed it a starfish, that they were holding on to like a prized toy (or buddy). But for some reason I was also thinking it was one of those ramen swirly fish cake things (sorry, don't know the name). I don't know if that is weird or not, or just a sign of how much I love ramen [and see it in everything].

Oh, ahahaha, thanks Oli. Longtime non-mystery solved. :D I always just thought the design was random just to have a nice aesthetic, or maybe meant to invoke some type of shell theme as a long shot, but a naruto makes so much MORE sense. Incidentally, I never had the chance to see the Naruto whirlpools while in Kobe, but going to Awaji was one of the things I always regretted not being able to do.

I believe it's these. There is a page in the one book where it's holding a bowl or jug shaped container with a bunch of them in it and holding one with two of it's other tentacles while floating in the ocean with other sea creatures around.

Just opened mine last night and feel the same. It's really a great toy and I never realized how bizarre the underside is. I'll try and snap a pic if anyone's interested.

Frenzy is easily becoming my next RxH aka stuff I plan on filling up on long term. I can't stop obsessing. I'm even buying old Conan toys to mix in with them and MOTU stuff.

The black Mutant Head on the left has always been a question mark for me. It looks like an older release, but it only shows up in the first RxH catalog in Kai-Zine, and not the Mook. Maybe it's a limited release, but I've seen around 2-3 of them surface in the past few years, which is kind of unusual.

I just checked the Mook, looks like MH-L05. I think the pic in the Mook is tricking you with loads of contrast and light. If not it's some more subtle variant maybe. Otherwise gold eyes, silver highlights, looks dead on. I'll try to get a better pic of mine. It doesn't look "custom" in hand, it's pretty legit looking.
