Lords of Salem
So went to see this today and not really sure what to think It has some stunning visuals and very cool seeing the Salem footage since its the next town over. Kind of took me out of the movie though, like hey look I was just there and wow that's so and so street. Anyway the movie seemed unfinished to me. I don't need everything explained to me but there's way too many questions left unanswered.

Oh it is out already?! I did not expect it to be very good after seeing the trailer. Actually I think Zombie is a little overrated. While House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects were a lot of fun, they still were not really good. Halloween and this animatic (forgot the name) were not even fun. Just my opinion of course!

Just heard his next movie ws going to be about the Broad Street Bullies(Flyers), not sure how I feel about that, but he has not done so well with horror so maybe psuedobiographical will be good for him.
I only watched the trailer for Salem, but it pretty much gave me all the impression stated above. He has gotten successfully worse with each film. 1000 Corpses was at least different for its time and had a flavour of its own, but I think that was an exception.

Ugh, please no. The Flyers, ach, it is bad enough I have to watch them in a non-fictional sense [plus they also already have an extensive HBO doc]. And leave Slap Shot alone already.
I will just leave this here. If you want a really entertaining hockey movie.

This is the exact same way I felt after leaving the theater. The first half was great, and it had a strong opening sequence. But the last 40 minutes or so, I just kept leaning over to my girlfriend and whispering, "What the fuck is going on?" I had been looking forward to this movie for over a year, as I'm a big fan of House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects and the first Halloween remake, but this was a huge disappointment.
The poster for Lord of Salem is great. I bought his latest album yesterday, the second half is good, the booklet is cool. I think that the guy is an amazing designer, that's what he truly is. The cartoon sucked but looked good. I did not see any of is other movies (I'm not to fond of cinema...) but I always get the soundtracks that are related to them, I think they're fun. Banjo and Sullivan ruled !

That was the major point that I make to anyone that asks me about the movie. Aesthetically, it's phenomenal. The visuals are extremely pleasing and captivating. But as far as the storytelling goes, it's definitely out the fuckin' window for Lords. I'll definitely agree that all of his movie's soundtracks are great. My favorite so far is The Devil's Rejects soundtrack.

How Rob Zombie has a career in anything actually surprises me. His music and films are the worst. ..going back to the 90's when he lifted that Curve sample for that one song.
Oh, and yes Goon is one of the best hockey movies ever made. What other hockey movies are there though? Youngblood (yes I like that movie)?, Slapshot (pretty over rated IMO)?

I still hope he gets to make T-rex. I think a violent biker movie would be very entertaining.

Re: Lords of Salem
I give credit to Rob Zombie for trying something new, but wasn't a fan of this. Pretty boring and very uneventful. It would've made a good short film (maybe about 15 minutes) versus a feature.
