 Re: comics?
I got the Marvel Unlimited subscription for the iPad, and it is pretty amazing.
If you can handle reading your comics on a tablet, I highly recommend it.

My weekly haul! The Lars Sjunnesson book is the best stuff I've read this year (+ the book itself smells damn good, it's like smelling fresh V-Colors from a bag ).

Received this yesturday. 2 hardcovers in a slipcase. Haven't read this since Viz started the translations back in 1988. I always felt Miyazaki manga versions of Nausicaa was better than his anime movie.

 Re: comics?
Just read Marble Season by Gilbert Hernandez, it was a really fun read! I've been re-reading Mike Allred's X-Force run from a few years back.. I'm holding out for his Fantastic Four TPB to be released in a few weeks. Been flipping through DC's Bizarro Comics and Marvel's recent Strange Tales collections. They should really do more anthologies like those!

 Re: comics?
Jodorowsky's Emglish translations of the Incal, Metabarons, Eye of the Cat, and mroe are absolutely killer. Real cosmic sci-fi opera and horror done right. American comics wish they were this good.

 Re: comics?
This comes out in January, but I for one am really excited. Alejandro Jodorowsky (The Incal, El Topo, Holy Mountain, The Dune that never was!) and Milo Manara team up to present a four part, 200 page sage of the Borgias. Blood, sex, debauchery, politics, and more. Jodorowsky does insane comics better than anyone, and this one has been on my must-read list for a while. This is the first time volume 4 is translated into English as well.

^^^ Yeah, my brother has some of those Borgias paperbacks and he told me they are definitely worth a read.

 Re: comics?
Ten Grand by Templesmith - not as funny as Wormwood but rather dark. Still enough WTF moments though . Subscribed on the new Guardians of the Galaxy after reading the free (!) introductions on my tablet (they are still available, if you want to prepare for the upcoming GOTG movie by James Gunn (Slither, Super) you should give them a try).

Fun fact about GotG, it welcomes a new character in the Marvel universe coming from Image's : Angela (Spawn).

 Re: comics?
I think it's more of a provocation from Gaiman to give (lend ?) HIS character to another company and piss off McFarlane who claimed owning the character.

 Re: comics?
It goes back to a lawsuit between McFarlane and Gaiman, and a lot of this bickering is due to McFarlane's stance on Miracleman. He says he owns it, everyone else says he doesn't, reprints are in limbo, Alan Moore's best work goes unreprinted.

 Re: comics?
I also remember reading that he actually sold Angela to Marvel after he won it from McFarlane in court. Marvel was still hyping their push to own Marvelman and made a big deal about it all being part of "Gaiman's return to Marvel", but it was later revealed that he sold the character altogether to them. So now I imagine they're just trying to make some money off their new acquisition! Introduce her in the latest mega-multi crossover event (Age of Ultron) and then spin her into the latest synergistic! "hot title" / movie tie-in. See also: why is Iron Man now a member of GotG... oh yeah, cuz he's the fucking lynchpin of Marvel Studio's movie success! Ha ha.
I've always thought GotG were pretty cornball, but I'm still into seeing the movie because of Gunn's involvement. Ditto for the Bendis comic... I'm sure they're both be plenty entertaining and more power to them all, because that's basically what I'm looking for when I read a Marvel book or see one of their movies.
But I've always been pretty "whatever" on Angela, so uh... whatever?
