Yes...nice to see the Wild making a game of this past one. If they keep it up, they could go 7 games...although I think the Hawks will still come out on top. Isles/Pens games seems to be the best series to watch (also thinking this will go 7 games). Habs are looking sad. Pretty crappy playing since last month. Might be time to put in Budaj. Still haven't seen the Bruins/Leafs play except in highlights. Sharks look really strong this post season. Logan Couture is becoming a really great player and Pavelski is clutch in the post season. They're actually a fun team to watch...and Couture is about as smart a player as they come. He's been consistent the past couple of season and just gets better each season. I wonder when the Sharks will trade him away...hahaha!

The game to watch today was the Pens vs the Islanders. AS much as I loathe the Pens they NEVER lose in OT. You can almost always count on a Crosby goal or assist (if he's playing). I've just grown accustomed to being disappointed when the Pens are in OT. Have to hand it to the Islanders though, if they were playing any other team they'd be up 3 games to none or at least 2-1 by now. Glad Minnesota finally won today.
Since game 2 and 3, the islanders are out working the pens everywhere. So frustrating with all the turnovers and such. We just have the skills to score goals, or else we would be down 2- 1 thus far.

I'm so torn tonight! First night I don't have massive studying to do and I'm not sure what game I want to watch. Do I watch the Habs vs Senators for the brawl that will surely erupt, or do I watch the goal fest fast paced game of the Pens vs the Islanders? Decisions....
Unfortunately this scheduling is why I have missed all of the Pens/Isles games - which are of course, from the looks of things, a much better display of hockey. But, even when you hate them and they go down in flames, you got to stick by your team 'till the end. I also haven't seen much of the LA/St. Louis series, but it looks like there have been some nice games there too.

Re: The good ol' hockey game
Montreal's got plenty of guys who can score but I hate to say it they are one of smallest teams in the league. In this day an age of hockey, you need a few big guys on your team so no one gets out of line on the other team. They get roughed up, and Prust and White can't fight. Seems like their main criteria in team building is finding French Canadians to put on the team. That's great, I applaud it, but find some bigger power forward type French Canadian guys.
Watch his foot after the puck goes in - you may not see him directly 'kicking' it in, but he pulls back his foot after, you can tell his foot was not involved in the stopping motion, hence, he directed it in. Even if it wasn't my team, I don like games to be decided on garbage calls. They have been letting them play so far, which is great, and the lack of penalty calls has cut back on the diving (thank god).

Re: The good ol' hockey game
I wanted to see some scoring (and since no brawl lol) so I switched to the Pens vs Islanders for the last two periods. What a fucking game! Isles come back from being down 4-3 to win 6-4. Dirty fucking Pens at the end of the game with a late hit on Martin by Iginla as the buzzer sounded, then Malkin suddenly thinks he's a tough guy. Whiny ass Pens, you're going home early thanks to your Flower. I hope someone beats Malkin's or Iginla's ass before they start their golf tour.
^^ Especially the linesman. What is going on in the faceoffs (across all of the series)? 2-minutes to drop the puck, waving out every single guy at the circle from either team? Morons.

Re: The good ol' hockey game
Brutal. No chance for Budaj, obviously he couldn't have warmed up in the break. Doubt we will see Prust come back again either, after watching him those last few shifts. Ah well, glad the Islanders won at least.
Morrow literally repeatedly bangs an Islanders players head into the ice in front of the ref, no call, then Letang, Iginla, and Malkin all do their dirty bit of business in the corner at the end of the game, including Letang cross checking a ref when he tries to stop him.
Pens fans wonder why 90% of hockey fans hate your fucking team? Little whiny sore losers. Also apparently the league has a different set of rules for these assholes. Jeez I want to fight Letang or Crosby so bad! A good old fashioned bar thumping is what they both need. Especially Letang. Crosby's only behaving because he has a busted jaw.

Would that be on ice, and with or without equipment? Count me in for front row seats in any case. Winner gets to claim half the other guy's annual salary - come on, you can't lose!
This game is looking like it could easily go either way, hope you have more than a couple beers handy.

Ha! I can't ice skate. I'd be killed on ice. I mean I say things pretty tongue in cheek, but I'm really amazed half the Pens roster has not been bludgeoned to death on ice with the shit they pull. Wonder if their star powers allow them extra protection?
I haven't had a beer yet (only have Coronas on hand), I'm superstitious about drinking if I don't start when the game starts. I tell you what with the Bruins keeping me on edge every game and school ending in 12 days, I'm going to need to stock up on Hendricks soon, that or a defibulator!
EDIT: Fucking nail biter in Toronto! Krejci for the hat trick in OT!!!!!
Looks like all the Western Conf games are turning out to be great games...well, depending on how the Wild do. The Wings/Ducks game just ended in OT, and highlights of the Blues/Kings game also ended in OT, and both have been pretty exciting to watch. Glad the Rangers won today. Not a bad play-off season so far.

Well we had a disappointing end to the season, but I am still impressed with what we did accomplish this year. I hope the team can make some significant moves for once in the off-season. Congrats Les Boys, we'll see you in the fall.

As much as I don't like the Rangers I was rooting for them against the Caps today. If the Bruins get their shit together and beat the Leafs, I like their chances with the Rangers over the Caps. Caps seem to have the Bruins number...
Oh and a tip of the hat to the Islanders. What a team! Never gave up, and they have so much talent. If they can just get a goaltender that can steal games for them, they'll be deadly.

I can agree with you on this. The Pens didn't deserve to win last night.
Definitely would have been great to see the Isles advance, but I think they did an amazing job regardless. It is a shame so many teams seem to have a goaltending issue in the league these days. And probably most other people also wanted to see the Caps go down.
Should be a good game tonight I hope, whatever the result. Reimer can't really do any better for the Leafs than he did the last game, man that was a pelting. Talk about no support up front.
