Lixx wrote: Trying to contain my excitement as I post this, and I'm sure it's just me misreading the info, BUT is Marusan reissuing some of those originals? Specifically the Giant Ragon Giant Bakura, Angoras, and Garugon all seen is the last photo. It says Kaijyu Shinbun Reprint. Does that mean they'll be making them again? I got excited for nothing. These pics: Are from this kaiju book: vintagevinyl wrote: this book has a great variety of toys . little bit of everything . i will post a shot of the menko cards pictured in the book . one of the characters was made into a vinyl recently . think i saw it at my friend keiths house last time i was there . there is also a really good section on marusan originals . But I did order one this morning That said Marusan does need to reissue the Giant Ragon & Giant Bakula (in the original colors also)

 Re: Marusan Checklist
^ Jeez I love that Gojira & tower set! Is it made in Japan or China? I know the giant original style Marusan Gojira was made in China so wonder if this big one is as well.

Huh...y'know, I never thought of that, but given the matte finish of the giant OG's, it totally makes sense. The main reason one would produce vinyl toys in China is because they generally use low-cost/high-output rotocasting machines. That form of manufacture leads to porous surface texture (on a microscopic level). Think Glyos Armodoc or Rig. Unless you gloss-coat rotocast vinyl, it'll never have the glass-like finish of slush-cast vinyl. ...Which is why I'm pretty damn confident this new one is Japanese (slush-cast). You can't fake the funk--that's one gloriously glossy beast!

 Re: Marusan Checklist
Thanks for the info Sanjeev! If that's the case, this ready for fisticuffs Gojira really is badass! Especially with that Bullmark OG color homage.

Yeah I saw that Godzilla set as well and it's so damn beautiful. For me those colors are spot on. When you can get toys like this I forget everything about all the lotteries that I enter and lose.

 Re: Marusan Checklist
That's a wonderful set! Agree that this colours are spot on. Especially the blue details. The jaw seems to be able to move, I know that'd be odd but it looks like it does.
