Monster Attack Team #1- it's simply GARAMANIACAL!
Well, not simply... it's chock full of other greatness, too! But, if you'll permit me a bit of proud self-promotion, Herr Ragone just sent me this preview pic of the opening pages of one of four Gara-based articles I did for the mag (8 pages in all)! Jason Edmiston was kind enough to let us use his FUCKING AWESOME "Garamon At Suinset" painting from GARAMANIACAL: Now I just need to get my own copies... dying to see it in person and check out the rest! I'm sure August did a beautiful job with the layout! The mag is avaialable here: http://www.captainco.com/collections/monster-attack-team/products/monster-attack-team-1Thanks for looking!

Congratulations again on the article Mike, I will have to grab that issue too. And the Edmiston print makes it that much more glorious. Hail our Lord Garamon!

The headline says #10 but the zine cover says #1, is this the first issue?

Re: Monster Attack Team #1- it's simply GARAMANIACAL!
Oh, good point, Chad! I should've put a note about that in my first post- this is actually the tenth published issue of MAT, but the first to be published under the auspices of Famous Monsters of Filmland, who they merged with last year... so under the new banner they are relaunching from issue #1. Thanks for the kind words, guys! Very much appreciated! Getting my big main Gara-article published in this format is something I have been working on since 2006. What appears in MAT is a reworked and updated version of what appeared in the one-shot S7 staff zine spearheaded by JoeBunny in 2007. Along with the main article, there is my personal "origin story" of Gara-fandom; an interview I did with Alex Wald; and an interview of me on the topic of Garamike, conducted and written up by my incredible sister Sara (who, I might add, plays a key role in said origin story). Also, a bunch of Gara-collection shots I snapped some years back! And David: yes- here's the deal: anybody who buys a copy and sends it to me with a return SASE, I will autograph it in full Garamike mode, and include a photo of myself doing so with the returned mag! For real!

Awesome stuff - congrats! I've got a couple of MATs in earlier incarnations of the mag (last year I met the editor/owner E. Holland, who lives in Japan) and have been looking forward to seeing the first issue under the FM umbrella. It looks spectacular. Some of the articles in previous issues are fantastic. A. Ragone and the crew really know their stuff and are committed tokusatsu heroes. I just checked their site, but the excellent "MONSTER ATTACK TEAM ISSUE 8, FULL COLOR" is marked as temporarily unavailable. Here's their site, BTW: http://www.monsterattackteam.com

can we organize a sb group purchase to be delivered directly to you, mike? that way we can avoid multiple reshipments, and you can don the costume and sign away in one felled swoop of those spindly garafingers.

Bill, if you want to do that, I'm totally game! If you collect the list of commited people, I can make contact with my folks at the mag, give a heads-up about it and get a final total for you on the bulk shipment to VT. There would have to be a couple extra bucks per person on top of that too, to cover my cost of shipping them from VT after signing/photographing. Keep me posted!

Re: Monster Attack Team #1- it's simply GARAMANIACAL!
The mag cost gave me a little sticker shock, and the store itself kind of frightened me , but the bulky-wulk idea makes it all better! Now if only I could get over my aversion to the number two...
1. ultra999 2. ? 3. toothaction
