Re: The good ol' hockey game
The game was 1 -0 until I stopped for a.second to look in a bar window and watch the last 10seconds. Then bam overtime. That one hurts.

Re: The good ol' hockey game
3rd time.... Are the Bruins finally coming to life or are the Rangers that bad? I'm not going to get ahead of myself but if they beat the Rangers and then have the face the Pens and somehow beat them, it would mean more to me than a cup. I hate the Pens and Rangers so much. I love that Torterella is upset

I was pissed off so bad when the Rangers scored first and how the hell do you let a guy park himself like that in front Rask? Wtf? Great outcome though

Sharks almost lost that one tonight. I think it will go 7 games but I'm not too sure who will come out the winner.

Re: The good ol' hockey game
I just heard the news about Vigneault. Can't fault him for the Canucks' performance in my opinions, but if Bergevin is smart he would grab him for Montreal instead of that clown Therrien. You know, because they have to have a native French-speaker behind the bench.

Re: The good ol' hockey game
Oh c'mon, he was terrible even the first time we had him, and I think since has miscoached every team he has been the lead of. I guess it depends on your preferred coaching style though. Well, and I admit I have always liked Vigneault.

Hahahaha, at least then we could count on some bench-clearing fights! (well he would insist on having his son in the line-up naturally)

Yeah Tortorella is just a plain jerk! Way to stand behind your own team right? Hagelin should have told him "eff you douchenugget!" I have a funny Tortorella story (well not really a story). I used to work at the Buffalo News which is literally next to First Niagara Center where the Buffalo Sabres play. The subway system is above ground there. Well I was getting on the train in the afternoon to go home, I knew the Rangers were in town, an low an behold there is Tortorella standing right in front of me yapping on his cell phone. Guy is fucking tiny, I think he has a napoleon complex or something because he was raging on the phone about something! I just mumbled douchebag to myself.

There's probably a soap box for him to stand on behind the bench. Yes...I meant Brad Richards.

Torts is the worst. As much as I'm not looking forward to a Bruins Pens series, at least I won't have to see that douche every night.

Re: The good ol' hockey game
Wow what game are these refs watching? NY getting all kinds of dive/holding calls that are totally manufactured by the Rangers. Seguin getting a call? He wasn't even on the ice for the too many men and now Hagelin dives...Total BS! What do we need to extend NY's demise?

Re: The good ol' hockey game
Well let's not get ahead of ourselves the Bruins still need to finish off the Rangers. Good news is they did not fall asleep and get outplayed by the Rangers last game, just two very unfortunate miscues. Hopefully they are so driven they make quick work of the Rangers today.
If it does come to the Pens vs Bruins I will join you in the heart attack department. At the very least the games will give me an aneurysm! Not taking away from Orpik, Letang, and Vokoun, I do think the B's have a deeper defense core/better goaltender (although that one goal he could have easily stopped and let drift in after a fall was really suspect). Pens clearly have a better offense. This series is going to come down to possession time, who can wear who down more physically, and turnovers.
The other series I'm closely watching is the Hawks/Wings! How about those Redwings? So written off by everyone as a team not even going to make the playoffs, they've been playing some of the best hockey I've seen. They really got in a groove at the end of the season and then finishing off the Ducks. I hope they finish off the Blackhawks today. I've watched all the games, and the Hawks look more an more stunned every day. Besides if the Bruins fail to get to the cup, I would love to see a Pens/Wings rematch. They have such a heated history over the last few years.

Re: The good ol' hockey game
I don't know if it is fair to say Ottawa sucks, it is hard for anyone to battle against the constant onslaught and depth of offense Pittsburgh has to offer. And considering how well Anderson was bailing them out, I think they had a decent performance - more than was expected anyways.
Pens/Wings final is my choice too. They (Pitts) obviously have a serious goaltending problem, with Vokoun being only marginally better than the utterly terrible MAF, but when you can manage that many goals a game, it is easy to make up for it. I would hate to think what a stacked team like that could do with a decent netminder.
Well anyways, it seems that the Bs will advance, and it will interesting to see if their physical game takes the Pens down a notch, or whether they just end up getting caught standing still.

Re: The good ol' hockey game
Best thing the Bruins can do if they play the Penguins is neutralize the secondary scorers, I mean if you want to call them that even. You can frustrate Crosby by being physical, same with Malkin, but you won't ever completely neutralize them. You really need to take Neal, Kunitz, Dupuis, Iginla, and Sutter OUT of the equation. Hit the hell out of them, slow them down, don't allow any 3 on 2 breakouts. This is the only way to try an contain Pittsburgh's offense. Every time I watch the Pens play I see teams making that critical error because Pittsburgh is always looking for the quick ups (and why wouldn't you with all those scorers with speed?). Rask is a good goaltender but he won't be able to keep out a ton of goals if the Bruins give up odd man chances.
I'm loving Krug though...what a great kid! 3 goals in 4 games for a rookie in his first playoff series. He's super agile and quick. B's should definitely keep him in to help quarterback the powerplay and make sure Ference does not come back. Guy has heart but gives the puck away too much.
