Thanks, guys! I definitely feel ridiculously lucky to have found such an awesome, sought after piece so early into my collecting of SB, and for what I consider to be a steal price. Super, super stoked on it.

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
A long time coming... A mix of vintage and modern, kaiju and bots (some of the beater bots were purchased for much-needed parts). I didn't expect the M1 egg figures to be such a hard vinyl. Kind of a downer. Was this in their early days before they used better quality vinyl?

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
Great haul of toys. As for the M1, I am not sure that the vinyl is necessarily any different, but their smaller size makes for a tighter 'joint' on the parts, since everything is closer together, and this gives them a higher degree of rigidity.
I really love that T-28, if you end up with some kind of half-completed guy once you get what you need, let me know.

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
^^ seems odd to attribute "better" and "worse" to "soft" and "hard" vinyl. would a squishy dog-chew toy rate higher on the quality scale than the m1 mids? it's only a matter of the amount of plasticizer mixed in, which should be used in amounts appropriate for the application.

I really love that T-28, if you end up with some kind of half-completed guy once you get what you need, let me know. Thanks. I might have some bare-bones parts left over, but so far, nothing substantial. Its basically a totally busted body with no accessories that is left over. All other parts went into my other crappy figure I already had. I still need a few more parts for that. Its certainly a lot less expensive than buying a MIB one, and I am not a stickler for pristine condition. As to vinyl quality, this sort of comes from the discussions I seem to recall here about the early Max Toy products. Originally, I think he was having them manufactured in China, and many complained about the quality (the early Eyezons were hard as a rock). His later products were made in Japan using what was commonly referred to as a better, softer vinyl. So I assume that is the general vibe here. To me, I consider the vintage toys. The vintage Bullmarks and Marusans were soft, so in my mind, the newer toys that are being made to emulate them should be the same.

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
Typical "Japanese vinyl" (Kobasol has actually been produced in China for the past 30+ years) comes in either the durometer of 90 Shore A (Opaque/Harder) or 85 Shore A (Clear/Softer), however depending on how the figure is degassed (the removal of bubbles) the final density can run from super squishy (traditional rotational style) to rock hard (vacuum chamber method) a result that happens due to the vinyl actually being hyper compressed into the mold. Most of the newer M1 figures use the vacuum chamber method and run a bit firmer than traditional style kaijus like the original Bullmarks and Marusans, however occasionally you come across some vintage molds that are too big to fit in the vacuum chamber so the old style is used in those cases in another "factory." If you pickup a NNN or 2-Headed Bemon figure in one hand (vacumm chamber) and a Zagoran or Super7 toy in the other (tradional rotational style from Obitsu) you can clearly feel the difference between the two fabrication styles. Also, the new vacuum chamber style allows for a bit more nuanced sculpting like the Gorilla-Ju's teeth, etc., that was not possible using the tradional rotational style bubble removal. Personally, I love both styles, though the amount of manpower (literrally) it takes to use the rotational style gives Gargamel and Super7 toys a certain old school charm.
