I have sculpted and had a few toys produced(nothing that fits on SB at all so i'll leave it at that). Quite awhile ago something released limited to 10 pieces in a certain color and ONE guy managed to snag every single one and started offering them at 5x the price. It was the first time that had ever happened to me. I didn't feel great because people were willing to shell out more money. I felt like shit that people who want what I make were getting hosed. I don't even make money off what I do. If I am lucky one toy will fund the supplies for the next. Prices are kept as low as possible so anyone can grab what I've done. It's not about money or even gaining a following since half of what I do I keep my name out of. It's about sharing something I made and enjoy with other people. What I ended up doing was getting that color released again instantly as a pre-order to shut down the flipper. Yeah it made the limited to 10 thing totally untrue but I didn't give a damn.

My toys are limited in number because supplies are expensive. Limited in color because making just one would be boring. Limited in price because I am a fan of toys and toy collectors more then a fan of steaks and lobsters.

Dragging ones ass out of a gutter full of ignorance and appreciating; worth, effort, dedication and influence are key to wholly enjoying this hobby. I feel that a lot of these folk just want a toy, get their rocks off and then trash it to the side like some meaningless thing. There is a manner in approaching this that sometimes is way more rewarding to the hobby than the objects themselves.
