Im curious to see how others are taking it so far?

I'm watching to see how it ends since I've seen every season BUT I think it's kind of lame. This whole pass the torch mentor thing and Dr. Vogel. Extremely zzzzzzzzzz. Everything is just so far fetched anymore.

Yeah just watching to see how it ends. The best moment in the entire series was Rita's death and everything has been pretty lackluster ever since. Maybe they are trying to fit too many plot lines in this last season or something because people are dying really fast

I agree. I have been wanting Dexter to get caught for every season after rita's death. This season has so many new plots and side stories its crazy. way to much to introduce to what is the last season.

Moment you knew they were over there head in plot twist was when they killed off the intern last season which would have been a somewhat interesting story. To kill off someone like that and play off the serial killer/hand references he sent to dexter as a game he wanted dexter to look at was just SO stupid.

after saying all that I do love Dexter though ha ha. True fans are those who complain yet love it all anyway

I think the writers were torturing Deb last season when Deb and Dexter already divorced in real life, which made that whole segment hilarious

Man, seriously. The show should have ended after the Trinity Killer season. It was a perfect ending. His child in a pool of blood, mother killed. It was the cycle all over again. And Dexter was the new Harry for Harrison. And you just kind of were left to your imagination on how the rest of it went on.

The way they are treating this season is as if they have another one coming.
I mean, what are all these dumb plot lines?!

Quinn?!
New, young blood killer and trying to teach him the code?!

This season started off pretty strong. Like "Oh man, some old lady appeared and invented to code, and is breaking apart Dexter's world around him!?" Then they just went off and lolly-gagging around.
I was really hoping this would be like a "FINAL" season.
Debra dealing with Dexter. Dexter learning the origins of the code. Batista on the hunt for Lieutenants murder. Maybe even give Quinn a braincell and have a hunch on Dexter.
You know, freaking write it like its the end!

Man, just spoiled from Breaking Bad I guess.

My gripe about this season is how they just wrote off the last season like all is fine now. I wish they kept the suspense up and made this season occur in a timeline following la guertas death.

also dont start on baby harrison. That kid was a mistake. They wrote him in and now dont know what to do with him. So we see little filler with dexter playing with him,and a new character whos sole purpose is to watch that kid cause we know dexter could care less.

Also Aster and cody?? those punk kids never visit? they add too many layers and improbable story arcs and closures for me to think anything other than that version of Miami Florida have birthed nothing but idiots

Batista's sister who seemingly has no life?! LOL. "Dex my best friend was just brutally murdered, I can't be alone so I'm going to Quinn's fuckpad want me to just take Harrison there?" Every time that girl opens her mouth I face palm and say to myself how fucking ridiculous is this show anymore? Who would say that?

I always knew Harrison was going to cramp Dexter's style. They should have had him killed off with Rita instead of trying to evolve Dexter. The only season since 4 I've actually liked was season 6 (sort of).

its just so wishy washy now. Im very amazed at how many times dexter is able to park across the street and just stare at those he is stalking. Even when they know who dexter is they never seem to notice? Got to love this show though ha ha. They have dragged it on and its nice to see its going to end. I just wish they did add so much fluff to this season. it feels like there are more coming. ill be pissed if it all concludes quickly on the final episode.

theories of who the brain surgeon is? do you think its someone we already have been introduced to or someone yet to be shown?

Def. just watching because I want to see it end. I assumed last season would be it. Ugh. Nothing beat Trinity. They should have done 1 more "wrap up" season and ended it.

I'm assuming it'll be really lame and bad, like the brain surgeon is the Vogel's alternate "psycho" personality or some garbage. Or Harry. Or fucking whoever else died and they brought them back because fuck good stories. Maybe one of Rita's annoying ass kids.

the brain surgeon is obviously doctor Vogel (like the DDK was Travis and the professor was dead), that persuades her old patients to perform the operation with a sort of brain-wash. what a pathetic turn of event...

it might have something to do with her...maybe the reason why she was quick to change the subject about what got her interested in her practice when Hannah asked but it would be WAAAAAY to dumb for them to just make her the killer. I hope they dont do that. She should die however.

Probably because Stiles is a more famous actress so it's not very likely she'd return to the show

i just meant that in that they keep mentioning who knows about his secret in this season and its as if they forgot about her. Id say id be most worried about her knowing. She seemed like a messed up girl who could get her life back on track and need to expose what happened as a release to finally come to closure.

I guess i just didnt find it smart to let her go and find it odd that they dont ever mention her.

But i also find it off the temp from last season was killed and no one in miami metro ever got a missing report on him and thought " Hey, thats that temp that was working here".

This show has been showing signs of ineptitude for a long time now. As early as the third season they were leaving gaping holes in the storytelling by dropping side stories as if they never happened; and resolving plot points with the most glaring uses of deus ex machina this side of the Bible. I've stuck with it, mostly out of habit, but every year since then I've promised myself that I'm just going to ignore it the year. Thankfully they're finally putting me out of my misery!

Except... Did anyone else enjoy the Lumen storyline? She was worlds more interesting to me than our pretty poisoner. No accounting for taste, eh?

I only finished because I invested. It was as I expected. Turd City. Should have ended on Season 5. He should have been busted. It would have been better. Or killed. By Deb. The ending was so fucking vanilla. I could care less what happened to anyone.

I only watched the first three episodes of this season (since TW took away ShowTime for most of the season) but have not gone back to watch the rest of the season and don't really care to. This show should have ended a few seasons ago with the worst being the Doomsday Killer season. Everything about that season was garbage but when Dexter swam away from a boat that blew up while he was in it, I threw my hands up and pretty much gave up on the show ever returning to what it once was. The only thing that could have made that show "jump the shark" more was if there were actual sharks in the water after the boat got blown to smithereens. Dexter should have died right then and there and the show could have ended. From what I have been told about the way the series ended I am glad I don't have to watch it to see more of a once good thing gone to complete bull shit.
